Description of Planned Network Change(s)

The Verizon Fairfax VA CS2K switch, located at 10431 Fairfax Boulevard, Fairfax, VA 22030, will be retired and removed from the Verizon network. This action will occur after all traffic served by this switch is migrated to the Verizon Fairfax VA C20 switch, also located at 10431 Fairfax Boulevard, Fairfax, VA 22030. The traffic to be migrated includes, but is not limited to, Inter-LATA (ACCESS/FG-B-D/CLEC IXC), wireless, and paging traffic.

Description of Reasonably Foreseeable Impact(s)

All carriers, including competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), Interexchange carriers (IXCs, IECs), wireless carriers, and paging carriers, will need to provision new trunk groups to support direct end office trunking to the Fairfax VA C20 switch. Alternatively, existing trunk groups to that switch may need to be augmented.

All Access Service Request (ASR) submissions for the Fairfax VA C20 switch must be received no later than September 1, 2025. This deadline is to ensure sufficient time for migrating the traffic described above. Local Exchange Routing Guide (LERG) change effective dates will be published prior to the decommissioning of the Fairfax VA CS2K switch (on or after October 25, 2025). These dates will guide the interconnect re-routing of traffic for the Number Plan Area (NPA) codes currently served by the Fairfax VA CS2K switch. The Fairfax VA C20 switch will become the new home switch for this traffic. All trunks to the Fairfax VA C20 switch must be established before the decommissioning of the Fairfax VA CS2K switch.
