Description of the Planned Network Change(s):
The Verizon Turtle Creek PA VTOA Gateway switch, located at 801 Penn Avenue, Turtle Creek, PA 15145, will be retired and removed from the Verizon network after all traffic served by this switch is migrated to the Verizon Pittsburgh PA Downtown 71T DMS 200 Tandem switch, located at 416 7th Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. All traffic to be migrated includes, but is not limited to, Inter-LATA (ACCESS/FG-B-D/CLEC/IXC), wireless, and paging traffic.
Description of Reasonably Foreseeable Impact(s) of the Planned Change(s):
Competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), interexchange carriers (IXCs, IECs), wireless carriers, and paging carriers will need to secure new trunk groups built to the Pittsburgh PA Downtown 71T DMS 200 Tandem switch or have existing trunk groups to that switch augmented. Carriers that are code holders for access connectivity in the Turtle Creek PA VTOA Gateway switch will be required to reposition the codes to the Pittsburgh PA Downtown 71T DMS 200 Tandem switch.
All ASRs for the Pittsburgh PA Downtown 71T DMS 200 Tandem switch must be received no later than September 1, 2025, to provide sufficient time to migrate the traffic described above. These direct end office trunk (DEOT) interconnections will support traffic migration for the Turtle Creek PA VTOA Gateway switch prior to its eventual decommissioning. Local Exchange Routing Guide (LERG) change effective dates will be posted prior to the decommissioning of the Turtle Creek PA VTOA Gateway switch (on or after November 7, 2025). This will serve to guide interconnect re-routes of traffic for the nine (9) native codes currently served by the Turtle Creek PA VTOA Gateway switch to reflect the Pittsburgh PA Downtown 71T DMS 200 Tandem switch as the new home switch.
