General Assembly
The IceMyst Series liquid cooling system consists of a radiator, fans, and a pump/water block unit. The assembly process involves attaching fans to the radiator and then preparing for CPU socket mounting.
240/280mm Models
For 240/280mm models, two fans are attached to the radiator. The radiator unit is then prepared for mounting to the PC case. This involves using Fan Screws (A) to secure the fans to the radiator. The assembly is then positioned for installation onto the CPU socket.
Installation Step Example (240/280):
- Attach two fans to the radiator using Fan Screws (A).
- Mount the radiator assembly into the PC case using Case Screws (B) and the appropriate backplate (K for Intel LGA115x, or other compatible backplates).
360/420mm Models
For 360/420mm models, three fans are attached to the radiator. Similar to the smaller models, fans are secured with Fan Screws (A). The radiator unit is then prepared for mounting into the PC case.
Installation Step Example (360/420):
- Attach three fans to the radiator using Fan Screws (A).
- Mount the radiator assembly into the PC case using Case Screws (B) and the appropriate backplate (L for Intel LGA1700, or other compatible backplates).
Intel CPU Socket Installation
The IceMyst Series supports various Intel CPU sockets. The installation involves using specific mounting hardware for each socket type.
General Intel Mounting Bracket: The system includes an Intel CLIP (I) which forms the base of the mounting mechanism.
Intel LGA 115x / 1200
For Intel LGA 115x and LGA 1200 sockets:
- Apply Thermal Grease (H) to the CPU surface.
- Place the LGA115x BACK PLATE (K) onto the rear of the motherboard.
- Align the Intel CLIP (I) with the CPU socket.
- Secure the Intel CLIP (I) to the backplate (K) using LGA115x SCREWS (D) and SPRING SCREWS (C).
- Mount the water block onto the CPU.
Intel LGA 1700
For Intel LGA 1700 sockets:
- Apply Thermal Grease (H) to the CPU surface.
- Place the LGA1700 BACK PLATE (L) onto the rear of the motherboard.
- Align the Intel CLIP (I) with the CPU socket.
- Secure the Intel CLIP (I) to the backplate (L) using LGA1700 SCREWS (E) and SPRING SCREWS (C).
- Mount the water block onto the CPU.
Intel LGA 2011 / 2066
For Intel LGA 2011 and LGA 2066 sockets:
- Apply Thermal Grease (H) to the CPU surface.
- Use the LGA1700 BACK PLATE (L) for these sockets.
- Align the Intel CLIP (I) with the CPU socket.
- Secure the Intel CLIP (I) to the backplate (L) using LGA2011 SCREWS (F) and SPRING SCREWS (C).
- Mount the water block onto the CPU.
AMD CPU Socket Installation
The IceMyst Series also supports AMD CPU sockets.
AMD Mounting Bracket: The system includes AMD BUCKLE (G) and AMD CLIP (J) for AMD installations.
AMD Socket AM4/AM5
For AMD Socket AM4 and AM5:
- Apply Thermal Grease (H) to the CPU surface.
- Remove the stock AMD mounting brackets from the motherboard.
- Attach the AMD BUCKLE (G) to the motherboard using SPRING SCREWS (C).
- Align the AMD CLIP (J) with the CPU socket and the AMD BUCKLE (G).
- Secure the AMD CLIP (J) to the AMD BUCKLE (G).
- Mount the water block onto the CPU.
Wiring and Connections
Proper connection of the pump, fans, and RGB lighting is crucial for operation.
Pump and Fan Power Connection
The AIO pump and fans require power. The pump connects to the motherboard's AIO_PUMP header, and the fans typically connect to the CPU_FAN header or fan controllers.
- Connect the pump cable to the motherboard's AIO_PUMP header.
- Connect the pump's SATA POWER ADAPTER (S) to a SATA power connector from the PSU.
- Connect the fans to the motherboard's CPU_FAN header or a fan hub using the provided fan cables (N for 2-in-1, O for 3-in-1).
RGB Lighting Synchronization
The IceMyst Series supports RGB lighting synchronization with the motherboard or an external controller.
Motherboard Sync
To synchronize RGB lighting with your motherboard:
- Connect the fans' ARGB cables to the ARGB SYNC CABLE (P).
- Connect the ARGB SYNC CABLE (P) to the MB SYNC CABLE (Q).
- Connect the MB SYNC CABLE (Q) to the appropriate RGB header on your motherboard. Ensure correct pin definition (+5V, Data, Ground).
- For ASUS/MSI/ASRock/BIOSTAR motherboards, the MB SYNC CABLE (Q) connects directly.
- For GIGABYTE motherboards, a specific pin configuration is required on the MB SYNC CABLE (Q).
ARGB Control Box
To use the included ARGB CONTROL BOX (R):
- Connect the fans' ARGB cables to the ARGB SYNC CABLE (P).
- Connect the ARGB SYNC CABLE (P) to the ARGB CONTROL BOX (R).
- Connect the ARGB CONTROL BOX (R) to the motherboard using the MB SYNC CABLE (Q) for software control, or use the buttons on the box for manual control.
- Connect the ARGB CONTROL BOX (R) to the PSU using the SATA POWER ADAPTER (S).
- The system also uses a 2 IN 1 ARGB CABLE x1 for additional connections if needed.
Important Note: Please confirm the connector, definition, and direction of your motherboard's pin header when connecting cables. Ensure your ARGB controller or motherboard has the same +5V pin definition as the IceMyst Series.
