Important Safety Instructions
General Safety:
- Read and follow all instructions before setup and use.
- Operate the whirlpool with a residual current device (RCD) with a trip current not exceeding 30 mA.
- Connect the whirlpool via a power cord with plug and PRCD to a grounded socket with a rated residual current of 10 mA.
- Test the pump before each use.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or qualified personnel to avoid electric shock.
- Do not use extension cords; use a nearby socket.
- Ensure no part of the electrical equipment is over the whirlpool during use.
- Electrical components must be secured to prevent them from falling into the whirlpool.
- Connect to a grounded power source. The power source should be more than 4 meters away from the pool.
- Keep the power plug dry and never insert a wet plug into the socket.
- The power plug must be connected directly to a permanently installed socket.
- The socket must remain accessible after the whirlpool is set up.
- Do not operate the unit with an external switching device like a timer or connect it to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
- After 3-5 years of use, contact a qualified technician for safety and operational checks.
Electrical Safety:
- The whirlpool is protected by a PRCD in the power cord. If a fault current of more than 10 mA occurs, the device will interrupt the power supply. Do not attempt to reset the PRCD yourself; contact a service technician.
- Ensure your power supply is suitable for the pump's requirements.
- Using extension cords or multi-way adapters can cause overheating and damage.
- The whirlpool is a Class 1 electrical appliance and must be connected directly to a grounded socket.
- Use only moisture-protected sockets that can withstand high loads.
- Regularly inspect the plug and socket for damage.
- Test the PRCD plug before each use to prevent electric shock. Do not use the pump if the test fails.
Usage Safety:
- Do not use the whirlpool during thunderstorms or lightning.
- Do not wear contact lenses while using the whirlpool.
- Do not use the whirlpool during chemical treatment.
- Do not use extension cords.
- Do not touch the power plug with wet hands when plugging or unplugging.
- Disconnect the unit from the power supply before cleaning or maintenance, and when unattended during holidays.
- Store the unit indoors during long periods of non-use (e.g., winter).
- Use only manufacturer-approved accessories.
- Place the whirlpool on a non-slip surface, free from sharp objects.
- Do not place electrical devices (lamps, phones, radios, TVs) within 2 meters of the whirlpool.
- Always read instructions when setting up, using, or reassembling.
- Keep instructions for future reference. Contact the manufacturer if lost.
- Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, can use the device if supervised or instructed by a responsible person. Children must not play with the device.
- Cleaning and maintenance must be done by adults over 18 years old familiar with the hazards.
- Water is attractive to children; always attach the cover after use.
- Do not bury cables; route them to avoid damage from lawnmowers or shears.
- DANGER - Drowning: Prevent unsupervised access by children, especially under 5 years old. Ensure adult supervision at all times during use.
- Injury Hazard: Suction fittings are designed for specific flow rates. If replaced, ensure compatibility. Never operate with defective or missing suction fittings. Never replace a fitting with one that has a lower flow rate.
- Injury Hazard: Do not operate with defective or missing inlet/outlet hoses. Contact customer service for replacements.
- Electric Shock Hazard: Position at least 2 meters away from metal surfaces. Do not operate electrical devices with wet hands or while in the whirlpool. Do not place electrical devices within 2 meters of the whirlpool.
- Pregnancy Warning: Prolonged immersion in hot water can harm the fetus. Limit use to 10 minutes. Pregnant women should limit water temperature to 38°C (100°F).
- Health Warnings: Consult a doctor before use if you have heart conditions, high/low blood pressure, circulation problems, diabetes, or are taking medication that may cause drowsiness or affect heart rate/blood pressure.
- Do not submerge your head in the water.
- Do not swallow pool water.
- Consuming alcohol, drugs, or medication can lead to unconsciousness and drowning.
- Hyperthermia (overheating) can be dangerous. Symptoms include dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, and fainting.
- Ensure electrical installations comply with national standards.
- Use caution, common sense, and good judgment during water activities.
- Non-Swimmer Safety: Constant, active supervision by a capable adult is required, especially for weak or non-swimmers. Remove all toys from the pool and its surroundings when not in use or unsupervised.
- Safety Features: Use a safety cover or other safety measures to prevent unauthorized access. Safety covers, barriers, and alarms are aids, not substitutes for adult supervision.
- Safety Equipment: Keep rescue equipment (e.g., a life buoy) and a functional telephone with emergency numbers nearby.
- Encourage users, especially children, to learn to swim. Learn CPR and refresh knowledge regularly. Instruct all users on emergency procedures.
- Never jump into shallow water.
- Do not use the whirlpool under the influence of alcohol or medication.
- Remove covers completely before use.
- Maintain water quality and hygiene according to the user manual to prevent waterborne diseases.
- Keep chemicals out of reach of children.
- Use provided warning signs.
- Store removable ladders safely to prevent children from climbing.
Setup and Installation
Checking Parts: Verify all components before use. Contact Bestway customer service for any damaged or missing parts.
PRCD Test: Before connecting the plug:
- Plug in the device.
- Press the 'RESET' button; the indicator light should turn on.
- Press the 'TEST' button; the indicator light should turn off.
- Press the 'RESET' button again; the indicator light should turn on.
- Press the 'On/Off' button for two seconds to make the pump operational.
Potential Equalization Terminal: It is recommended to have a qualified electrician connect the whirlpool pump using a 2.5 mm² copper conductor with a potential equalization terminal.
Inflation:
- Air may escape where the hose connects to the pump; this is normal.
- Do not cover the holes at the bottom of the inflation hose, as this can over-inflate and damage the material.
- Do not use an air compressor for inflation.
- Avoid dragging the pool over rough ground to prevent damage to the pool liner.
Air Valve Check: Ensure the air valve seals tightly before inflating. If loose, tighten it with the provided wrench.
Location:
- The chosen location must be able to support the expected load.
- An appropriate drainage system is required for indoor and outdoor setups to handle overflow.
- For indoor setup, ensure good ventilation and dehumidification. Avoid placing on carpet or porous materials that absorb moisture or can be damaged by chemicals.
- For outdoor setup, place near a drain as water may leak during filling, emptying, or use. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.
- Ensure at least 1 meter of clear space around the whirlpool.
- Consult local authorities regarding water usage and safety regulations (fencing, lighting).
Draining and Storage:
- Follow the instructions for draining the whirlpool.
- Ensure the whirlpool is completely dry before storage to prevent mold.
- For specific models (Paris, Bali), drying the air chamber may take up to 25 hours.
- When lifting the pool, handle it carefully; damage to handles is not covered by warranty.
- Store the cover on a clean, dry surface, away from direct sunlight or potential damage.
Operation
Control Panel Functions:
- Lock/Unlock Button: Activates/deactivates the control panel.
- Energy Saving Timer: Allows setting a delay for the heating cycle.
- Heater Button: Activates the heating system. The indicator light is red when heating, green when the target temperature is reached. The filter runs automatically when the heater is on.
- Massage System Button: Activates the bubble jets. Features a 30-minute auto-shutoff. Do not activate with the cover on.
- Temperature Adjustment Buttons (Up/Down): Set the desired water temperature between 20°C (68°F) and 40°C (104°F).
- On/Off Button: Activates/deactivates the control panel and all functions.
- Celsius/Fahrenheit Switch: Selects temperature display unit.
- Water Filter Button: Turns the filter pump on/off. The indicator light is red when the filter is active.
Heating:
- The heating effectiveness depends on ambient temperature and whether the cover is used.
- Allow at least one minute for the filter to run to display the current water temperature accurately.
- Water temperature measured by an external thermometer may differ by up to 2°C from the display.
Winter Use (Freeze Shield™):
- The Freeze Shield™ system maintains water temperature between 6°C and 10°C to prevent freezing.
- The heater will run continuously if the water temperature drops below 6°C.
- If the Freeze Shield™ system is not working, check for error messages.
- Do not use the whirlpool if the ambient temperature drops to -10°C.
- If leaving for an extended period when temperatures may drop below 6°C, drain and store the whirlpool.
Heating Reset: If the temperature does not change after 4-5 hours of heating, press the RESET button on the pump with a thin object to restart the system. The heater may not operate if the ambient temperature is above 40°C or if exposed to direct sunlight.
Heating Time: Estimated heating times to reach 40°C (104°F) vary based on initial water and ambient temperatures. Covering the spa significantly reduces heating time.
Power Consumption:
- Power Supply: 220-240 V AC, 50 Hz, single phase.
- Pump: 2050 W (at 20°C).
- Massage Blower: 800W.
- Heater: 2,000W (at 20°C).
- Water Pump: 50W.
Maintenance
General: Always disconnect the pump from the power supply before performing maintenance.
Refilling Air: Periodically check and refill air in the whirlpool as needed, as temperature changes can affect pressure.
Cover Care: Clean the cover regularly on both sides with a suitable cleaning solution, preferably one with disinfecting properties (e.g., 10 mg/l free chlorine).
Filter Cartridge Maintenance:
- Inspect and clean filter cartridges daily.
- Replace filter cartridges weekly, or sooner if they remain dirty or discolored.
Water Treatment:
- Clean the pool regularly to prevent bacteria, algae, and mold growth.
- Replace the water completely and clean the pool periodically based on usage and water condition.
- Use pool chemicals to maintain water balance and hygiene. Recommended levels: pH 7.4-7.6, Alkalinity 80-120 mg/l, Free Chlorine 2-4 mg/l.
- Pool chemicals are potentially toxic; handle with care. Store chemicals properly and follow manufacturer instructions.
- Damage from chemical misuse or incorrect water treatment is not covered by warranty.
- Avoid direct contact of chemicals with the pool surface, as it can cause damage and discoloration.
- Remove the ChemConnect™ dispenser while using the whirlpool.
- Test water chemistry after maintenance before use.
