Grounding Instructions
This product must be grounded. Grounding provides a path of least resistance for electrical current to reduce the risk of electric shock. The product is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING: Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if you are in doubt about grounding. Do not modify the plug; if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
This product is for use on a normal 120-volt circuit. It has a grounding plug. A temporary adapter (shown in sketches B and C) may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle (sketch B) if a properly grounded outlet (sketch A) is not available. The adapter should only be used until a properly grounded outlet can be installed. The green-colored tab or similar extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground, such as a properly grounded outlet box cover. The adapter must be held in place by a metal screw.
Grounding methods:
- Grounded Outlet (A): Standard three-prong outlet.
- Adapter (B, C): Used to connect a two-prong outlet. Ensure the adapter's grounding tab connects to a permanent ground.
The use of a temporary adapter is not permitted in Canada.
Get Ready
Unpack the Box
Your Human Touch massage chair requires simple assembly with no tools needed. Unpack the chair and the head pillow.
Assembly Steps
- Plug it in: Plug the power cord into a grounded 120-volt wall outlet.
- Power on: Turn the master power switch to ON. This switch is located on the bottom center of the chair back. The power panel offers a convenient outlet for low-wattage appliances (e.g., lamp, laptop), but do not plug in appliances exceeding 1 AMP (e.g., vacuum, hair dryer).
- Raise the backrest: Use the remote control to raise the backrest to an upright position.
- Attach the head pillow: Attach the head pillow to the top of the backrest using the hook and loop fasteners.
Take a Seat
Adjusting the Chair
Using your Human Touch massage chair is easy. Sit down, deploy the foot and calf massager, adjust the backrest, and you're ready for your chosen massage. The chair expertly soothes tired muscles from head to toe with various massage techniques you control, offering relaxation and refreshment.
- Adjust the backrest: Use the remote control's Power Recline buttons to adjust the backrest angle for maximum comfort.
- Adjust the footrest height: While seated, pull up on the electric footrest lever (located on the right-hand side of the chair) to raise the footrest to a comfortable height. Release the lever to set.
Note: A slight pause may occur when changing backrest or foot/calf massager direction as the chair gears shift; this is normal.
Before getting out of the chair, always lower the footrest. Push down on the electric footrest lever to return the footrest to a vertical position.
For a Foot or Calf Massage
- Deploy the foot and calf massager: Pull up on the footrest release handle (on the right side of the footrest). For a calf massage, rotate the footrest away from the chair until it clicks into position with the massager facing up. Do not force past the click. For a foot massage, rotate just until the massager faces up; do not let it click into position, allowing it to move freely.
- Insert your feet or calves: Place your feet or calves into the deployed massager. Do not stand or sit on the foot and calf massager.

Massage Techniques Explained
Massage Technique | What It Does | Benefits |
---|---|---|
ROLLING | Rolls gently up and down your back near your spine. | Warms and loosens muscles, preparing your back for deeper massage. Relieves muscle tension, improves circulation, and relaxes the back. |
PERCUSSION | Alternates rapid-tapping strokes along the spine to stimulate spinal muscles and joints, emulating sports medicine techniques for deep muscle therapy. | Flexes spinal joints and relieves pressure on the spinal column, invigorating the entire back area. |
COMPRESSION | Applies pressure to spinal muscles and joints using alternating strokes and a gentle rocking motion, emulating sports medicine and chiropractic techniques. | Spreads pressure to deep muscle tissue, forcing relaxation, while the rocking motion loosens spinal joints. Aids muscle and joint repair from strain, and can improve mobility and posture. |
KNEADING | Kneads your back in a small, circular motion on both sides of your spine simultaneously. | Relieves tension and soreness by lifting and stretching muscles. Improves circulation and delivers vital nutrients to the spinal area. |
Customize Massage Intensity
The massage-softening pad softens massage intensity. For a stronger massage, remove the pad.
- Flip the head pillow to the back of the chair.
- Open the horizontal zipper on the front of the backrest cushion.
- Insert or remove the massage-softening pad as desired.
- Close the zipper.
- Flip the head pillow back to the front of the chair.
You can re-insert the pad later by following these steps. Additional pads are available from Human Touch for a fee.
To experience the full power of Human Touch, simply remove the massage-softening pad. Keep it handy in case you wish to replace it later.
