Grounding Instructions:
This product must be grounded. If it malfunctions, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electrical current to reduce the risk of electric shock. The product is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate, properly installed, and grounded outlet according to local codes.
DANGER: Improper connection of the grounding conductor can result in electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if unsure about grounding. Do not modify the plug; have a proper outlet installed if needed.
The product uses a standard 120-volt circuit with a grounding plug (illustrated as sketch A). A temporary adapter (sketches B and C) may be used to connect to a 2-pole receptacle if a grounded outlet is unavailable, but it should only be used until a qualified electrician can install a proper grounded outlet. The adapter's green tab must be connected to a permanent ground, such as a grounded outlet box cover, secured by a metal screw.
Grounding Methods:
- (A) Grounded Outlet: Shows a standard three-prong outlet.
- (B) Adapter Use: Shows a three-prong plug connected via an adapter to a two-prong outlet, with the adapter's grounding tab secured to the outlet box with a metal screw.
- (C) Adapter Detail: Close-up of the adapter showing the grounding tab.
Temporary adapters are not permitted in Canada.
Assembly Instructions
Your Human Touch massage chair requires simple assembly with no tools needed. Attach the backrest pad, seat pad, and head pillow.
Unpack the Box:
Illustrations show the main chair, seat pad, backrest pad, and head pillow.
1. Unfold the Chair:
Remove all packaging materials. Pull up on the backrest to unfold the chair to an upright position. The backrest locks automatically.
2. Attach the Backrest Pad:
Attach the top flap of the backrest pad to the top of the backrest. Smooth the bottom flaps under the backrest. Attach side flaps to the sides of the backrest. All flaps use hook-and-loop fasteners.
3. Attach the Seat Pad:
Stand on the right side of the chair. Pull the footrest control lever to extend the footrest horizontally. Pull the rotation release handle (on the right side of the footrest) and rotate the footrest away from the chair to a vertical position. Attach the seat pad to the seat using hook-and-loop fasteners. Wrap the front flap of the seat pad around the chair frame and attach it to the top of the chair frame using hook-and-loop fasteners.
4. Attach the Head Pillow:
Flip the flap on the back of the backrest pad up and over the chair. Attach the head pillow to the flap using hook-and-loop fasteners. Adjust the head pillow height for comfort.
Operation Instructions
Using your Human Touch massage chair is easy. Sit back, adjust the backrest and foot/calf massager, and enjoy a variety of massage techniques for relaxation.
1. Power On:
Plug the power cord into a grounded power source. Turn the master power switch (located on the bottom center of the backrest) to 'On'.
2. Adjust the Footrest Height:
While seated, pull the footrest control lever (right side of chair) to raise the footrest to a comfortable height. Release the lever.
3. Adjust the Backrest:
Use the remote control's Recline and Incline settings to adjust the backrest angle for maximum comfort.
A slight pause may occur when changing backrest or foot/calf massager direction as gears shift; this is normal.
To collapse the chair for moving: Press the backrest release lever (on the back of the chair, under the rear right seat corner) and push the backrest down onto the seat.
For a Foot or Calf Massage:
1. Deploy the Foot and Calf Massager:
Pull the footrest rotation release handle (right side). For a calf massage, rotate the footrest away from the chair until it clicks into position with the massager facing up. Do not force past the click. For a foot massage, rotate just until the massager faces up; do not let it click into place, allowing it to move freely.
2. Insert Your Feet or Calves:
Place your feet or calves into the deployed massager.
Note: Do not stand or sit on the foot and calf massager.
For easier exit: Retract the footrest and return the backrest to a full upright position before getting out. Ensure the area behind/under the footrest is clear before retracting. Use the footrest lever to retract and the Power Incline button to return the backrest upright.

Massage Techniques Explained:
Massage Mode | What It Does | Benefits |
---|---|---|
Kneading | Kneads back in small, circular motions on both sides of the spine simultaneously. | Relieves tension and soreness by lifting and stretching muscles. Improves circulation and nutrient delivery to the spinal area. |
Percussion | Alternates rapid-tapping strokes along the spine, stimulating muscles and joints, similar to sports medicine techniques. | Flexes spinal joints, relieves spinal pressure, and invigorates the back. |
Rolling | Gently rolls up and down the back near the spine. | Warms and loosens muscles, preparing for deeper massage. Relieves muscle tension, improves circulation, and relaxes the back. |
Compression | Applies pressure to spinal muscles and joints with alternating strokes and a gentle rocking motion, mimicking sports medicine and chiropractic techniques. | Stretches and applies pressure to deep muscle tissue, forcing relaxation, while the rocking motion loosens spinal joints. Aids muscle/joint repair and can improve mobility and posture. |
Customize Massage Intensity
Massage-softening pads soften the intensity. Remove them for a stronger massage.
- Flip the head pillow to the back of the chair.
- Detach the top hook-and-loop fastener of the backrest pad from the chair.
- Open the horizontal zipper on the back of the backrest pad.
- Insert or remove the massage-softening pad as desired.
- Close the zipper.
- Attach the top of the backrest pad to the chair using hook-and-loop fasteners.
- Flip the head pillow back to the front of the chair.
Replacement pads are available from Human Touch for an additional charge.

Follow these guidelines to keep your chair functioning well and looking its best.
Cleaning:
- Disconnect the power cord before cleaning.

Maintenance and Repair:
- The chair's mechanics are designed to be maintenance-free; no periodic lubrication or servicing is required.
- Service should only be performed by an authorized service center.
Storage:
- For long periods of non-use, cover the chair, coil the power cord, and store in a dust- and moisture-free environment.
- Do not store near heat or open flame. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause fading or damage.
Miscellaneous:
- Do not insert foreign objects into massage nodes or the unit housing.
- Be careful not to overload the unit.
WARNING: The product has a thermal resetting protection device. If it stops suddenly, turn the main power switch OFF for at least 30 minutes before restarting.
