Installation requires qualified electronics engineers and must comply with Worldline's recommendations, local electrical safety, and radio emission regulations. Worldline's support engineers are available for commissioning.

3.2 Packaging

Upon receipt, verify the contents against the bill of material: 1 terminal, 1 fixing plate, 1 gasket, 1 power adaptor, and 1 HDMI cable. Contact the shipping company or vendor for any missing or damaged items. Four M4 locknuts and washers are required for direct mounting to a vending machine but are not included.

3.3 Select a Location

Terminals are designed for unattended indoor/outdoor use and must be installed in compliance with local and regional electrical codes (IEC). Proper location selection is crucial. Choose a spot on the machine that is accessible from the front, ensuring the terminals fit, the card reader and display are visible and readable, and the card slot is accessible. Ensure sufficient space for the mounting brace, ground connection, cable routing (without folding, use ties), and rear access to the terminals. The maximum cable length between terminals and the vending machine controller (VMC) is 3 meters.

Avoid locations exposed to rain or harsh weather. Mount terminals vertically to prevent water ingress into the card reader. Ensure adequate air circulation. Take measures against condensation or humidity, especially in outdoor environments, potentially using heating or ventilation. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent display reflections. Ensure PIN privacy and locate the display away from cameras and mirrors. Always check local regulations for PIN privacy. It is mandatory to use ESD protective clothing when handling these devices. Check for signs of tampering upon receipt and regularly thereafter.

3.4 Procedure for Product Installation

3.4.1 Self/7000 Product Installation

The PCI hardware version rating plate must be visible after installation (only visible from inside the machine). The centerline of operating controls should be at least 400 mm above the ground.

Self/7000 Gasket and Evacuation Pipe: The product gasket must be correctly assembled to ensure IP ratings. An evacuation pipe accessory is provided to guide water away from the kiosk. Care must be taken with the pipe's orientation.
Caution: The device footprint surface on the kiosk must be flat and free of holes/burrs to maintain IP65 standard for dust and water penetration. Rubber at the rear ensures waterproofness between the EVA plate and the product. Waterproofness between the EVA plate and the kiosk panel must be ensured by the gasket on the EVA mounting plate. The Self/7000 has an IP rating of IP54 for the front face.

3.4.2 Add-on Boxes

Self/7000 can be upgraded with two types of add-on boxes: one for MDB features (power only or full MDB), and another for communication (Bluetooth and/or Radio link, supporting 3G/4G standards).

Cables Holder: A cable holder is supplied to manage cables connected to the Self/7000.
Add-on Box Installation (Box Mounting):
  1. Power off the device.
  2. Remove the relevant cap from the rear casing.
  3. Insert the add-on box into Slot 1 (for MDB or PWR box) or Slot 2 (for radio box).
  4. Secure with two screws using a torque of 0.8 Nm.
Antenna Mounting:
  1. Remove the antenna tool.
  2. Screw the antenna onto the relevant connector.
  3. Replace the antenna tool.

Self/000x Radio Box codes specify radio type (W), Bluetooth (B), and localization (R, S). Plugged-in modules are identified by internal EEPROM parameters.

3.4.3 Self/8000 Product Installation

The PCI hardware version rating plate must be visible after installation (only from inside the machine). The centerline of operating controls should be at least 400 mm above the ground.

Self/8000 Gasket: The product gasket must be correctly positioned to ensure IP ratings. The lugs should fit into the terminal's openings.
Cautions:
  • The EVA plate must be permanently connected to GND for safety regulations.
  • The IP rating for the front face is Self/8000 IP65.
  • The device footprint surface must be flat and free of holes/burrs for IP65 dust/water protection. Rubber at the rear ensures waterproofness between the EVA plate and the product, and between the EVA plate and the kiosk panel.

3.4.4 Installing the Modular Terminal

If installing a 4G comm-box board and antenna, prepare the vending machine first. For SIM card or 4G comms board installation, complete this before mounting the comm-box and terminal.

  1. Check the gasket positioning: Ensure lugs in the rubber fit into the terminal openings.
  2. Mount the modular terminal in the vending machine: Align the terminal with the front panel opening. Clamp the EVA frame to the rigid front plate using four locknuts (not included). Tighten locknuts in a Z-pattern. A cut-out matching the EVA EPS door module dimensions is required. Mount the terminal on the custom EVA plate using nuts and washers. Fixing is done with 4 M4 x 17 welded studs. Standard hexagonal nuts are required for kiosk integration. Torque value: 1.0-1.3 Nm. Washers are recommended. Do not over-tighten nuts.
  3. Cabling: After mounting, connect the communication cables.
Modular Terminal Cabling: Diagrams show IDMI port connections between the Self/7000 and Self/8000.
  1. Powering the devices: Plug in power and wait for the terminal to boot. Devices can be powered via the MDV comm-box using the MDB bus (48VDC) or an external power supply (9V-48VDC) connected to the MDB box.

The Self/7000 and Self/8000 comply with the Compact Door Module dimensions of the European Vending Association.
