The Minoston MS10Z is a Z-Wave Plus certified smart on/off switch designed for modern home automation. It offers versatile control options, including manual operation and wireless Z-Wave control, supporting 3-way configurations and custom scene functions. It features S2 security, a 500 series Z-Wave chip, and over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates.

WARNING - SHOCK HAZARD: Turn off power at the circuit breaker before installation. Ensure all wiring connections are made with the power off.
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT: Do not use this switch to control medical or life support equipment. Z-Wave devices should never be used for this purpose.
CONTROLLING APPLIANCES: Exercise extreme caution when using Z-Wave devices to control appliances. Avoid including devices that control hazardous appliances in groups or scenes.
FCC / IC Compliance: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standards. Modifications may void authority to operate.
Part 1: Installation
- Turn off power: Locate and turn off the circuit breaker for the light control. Verify power is off.
- Detach old switch: Unscrew the old switch from the wall box.
- Identify wires:
- LINE (Hot): Typically Black (connected to power)
- NEUTRAL: Typically White
- LOAD: Typically Black (connected to lighting)
- GROUND: Green or Bare Copper
- TRAVELER: Red or Other (only for 3-way installations)
- Install wires: Connect the wires to the MS10Z switch according to the wiring diagrams provided (single-pole or 3-way). Ensure the neutral wire is correctly connected in 3-way setups.
- Fix the shell: Secure the switch to the wall box using the provided screws.
- Turn on power: Restore power at the circuit breaker and test the switch.
Note: For 3-way setups, use only an On/Off, 3-way slave switch (non-dimming). The Traveler terminal is only used for 3-way wiring.

Single Switch Wiring:

Important Note: If your Line and Load wires are not in the same box, please contact Minoston for a custom schematic.
Part 2: Switch Setup
Local Button Functions
- Press 1x: Turn output ON or OFF.
- Press 2x quickly: Send Scene 1 / Scene 2 command.
- Press 3x quickly: Initiate inclusion or exclusion process.
- Press 6x quickly: Change Parameter 2 (LED Indicator Status).
- Press 7x quickly: Change Parameter 1 (Button Function Setting).
- Press 8x quickly: Change Parameter 8 (Restore State after Power Failure).
- Factory Reset: Click Z-Wave button 2 times quickly, then hold for at least 10 seconds.
Z-Wave Network Inclusion
1. Set your Z-Wave controller/hub to inclusion mode.
2. Triple press the Up/Down push button quickly on the MS10Z to include it in the network.
Z-Wave Network Exclusion
1. Set your Z-Wave controller/hub to exclusion mode.
2. Triple press the Up/Down push button quickly on the MS10Z to exclude it from the network.
Scene Functions
- Scene 1: Tap-Down-2
- Scene 2: Tap-Up-2
Works with Alexa & Google Assistant
Requires a compatible Z-Wave hub to interact with Amazon Alexa or Google Home services.
LED Status (Blue)
- Default (Off): LED is ON when the switch is OFF, and LED is OFF when the switch is ON.
- Value 1: LED is ON when the switch is ON, and LED is OFF when the switch is OFF.
- Value 2: LED is always OFF.
- Value 3: LED is always ON.
- Flashing quickly: Configuration succeed, inclusion/exclusion, parameter change.
- Flashing two times: Factory default, change LED status, change locally button function, restores state after power failure.

Association Group Information
- Group 1: Z-Wave Plus Lifeline (supports 1 node ID). Must be assigned the Node ID of the primary controller.
- Group 2: Send Basic Set ON/Off (supports up to 5 node IDs).
Association setup is performed via the Z-Wave hub.

Troubleshooting

Warranty
Minoston warrants this product to be free from manufacturing defects for one year from the original date of purchase. This warranty covers repair or replacement and does not extend to consequential damages. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied.
