Introduction
This product can be operated in any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave Plus™ certified devices from other manufacturers. All non-battery operated nodes within the network will act as repeaters regardless of vendor to increase reliability of the network. Each module is designed to act as a repeater, which will re-transmit a radio frequency (RF) signal by routing the signal around obstacles and radio dead spots to ensure that the signal is received at its intended destination.
MS12ZS is a security enabled Z-Wave Plus device. A security Enabled Z-Wave Plus Controller must be used in order to fully utilize the product.
The Device Type of the MS12ZS is on/off power switch.
The Role Type of the MS12ZS is Always On Slave Role Type.

Installation Wiring Diagram Description

Key Function Descriptions
- Function 1: Press the up or down button to turn the output ON or OFF.
- Function 2: Press the up or down button three times quickly to ADD and REMOVE the device from the Z-Wave network.
- Function 3: Press the up or down button six times quickly to change the Status LED Configuration.
- Function 4: Press the Z-Wave button three times quickly, and hold the third time for at least 10 seconds, to restore the device to factory settings. (Use only if the primary controller is missing or inoperable.)
- Function 5: Tap button A (Up) 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or Hold/Release to activate a scene.
- Function 6: Tap button B (Down) 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or Hold/Release to activate a scene.
Z-Wave Remote Control
To add or remove the MS12ZS from your Z-Wave home control network, use your primary controller.
- Refer to your primary controller's instructions for the inclusion/exclusion setup procedure.
- When prompted by your primary controller, click the Up or Down button three times within one second.
- The MS12ZS supports security features and can be included with a Z-Wave Gateway that supports S2 security.
- Inclusion: Adding a node ID allocated by the Z-Wave Controller.
- Exclusion: Removing a node ID allocated by the Z-Wave Controller.

Support for Association Groups
The MS12ZS supports two association groups:
- Group 1 (Z-Wave Plus Lifeline): Supports 1 node ID. Defaults to associating with the primary controller for status change reports. The MS12ZS triggers an AUTO report when the switch status changes.
- Group 2 (Basic Set Command): Supports up to 5 node IDs. When the switch output changes (On/Off), the MS12ZS automatically sends a related basic set command (0xFF for On, 0x00 for Off) to its associated group.
Restoring Factory Defaults
When the MS12ZS is removed from the Z-Wave network, it reverts to its factory settings. All configuration parameters and association information are reset and the device is excluded from the network.
Manual Reset Procedure
Press the Z-Wave button three times quickly, and hold the third time for at least 10 seconds to restore the device to factory defaults. Note: All settings and data will be permanently deleted. Use this procedure only when the primary controller is missing or inoperable.
