Nespresso Creatista Plus Descaling Guide
Important Information Before You Begin
Nespresso recommends descaling every 3 months or 300 capsules (whichever comes first).
Nespresso machines should be descaled with a Nespresso Descaling Kit which contains a natural solution that thoroughly dissolves the scale build up. Other solutions (such as vinegar or store-bought descalers) may cause damage to your Nespresso machine.
Descaling solution can damage or discolor surfaces, so we suggest placing something underneath your machine in case a spill should occur. If a spill does occur, please make sure to clean up the solution immediately to avoid any damage.
Safety Precautions:
- Keep descaling solution out of reach of children.
- In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical advice.
- Do not swallow or ingest the descaling solution.
- The descaling solution may be irritating to the eyes and skin.
Avoid filling up the water tank during the descaling process.
After descaling, wipe down the machine with a damp cloth.
Descaling Your Nespresso Creatista Plus
Follow these steps to descale your machine. The entire process takes approximately 15 minutes.
Step 1
According to how the water hardness is set, the DESCALE NOW alert will appear on the display when it's time to descale.
Step 2
Rotate the SELECT dial to MAINTENANCE and press SELECT.
Step 3
DESCALE will appear. Press SELECT and follow the on-screen prompts.
Step 4
Open and close the coffee lever to eject any used capsules.
Step 5
Empty and clean capsule bucket, drip tray, and water tank.
Step 6
Fill the water tank with fresh water up to the DESCALE line on the tank.
Step 7
Add 1 packet of Nespresso descaling solution to the water in the tank.
Step 8
Replace capsule bucket, drip tray and water tank onto the machine and place a large container under the coffee spout and steam wand.
Step 9
Press and release START/CANCEL, and the descaling solution will dispense from the coffee outlet in 5 intervals followed by 2 intervals from the steam wand.
Step 10
When prompted by the machine's display, discard descaling solution.
Step 11
Empty the capsule bucket and drip tray and re-insert on machine.
Step 12
Rinse and clean the water tank thoroughly, then fill with fresh water to the MAX line and replace onto the machine.
Step 13
Replace the large container under the coffee outlet and steam wand.
Step 14
Press and release START/CANCEL to begin the first rinse cycle.
Step 15
When prompted by the machine's display, discard the water from the container, then replace under the outlets.
Step 16
Add about two more inches of fresh water to the tank, then press and release START/CANCEL to begin the second rinse cycle.
Step 17
Discard rinsing water from container. Empty and rinse the capsule bucket and drip tray and re-insert on machine.
Step 18
Rinse the water tank and fill with fresh water up to the MAX line and place onto the machine.
Step 19
Wipe down the machine with a damp cloth. Let the machine rest for 10 minutes. The machine is now ready for use.
Step 20
If at any time you change the type of water you are using in your machine, please perform a new water hardness test to update the setting on your machine for future alerts.
Step 21
The water hardness can be changed in SETTINGS from the digital display.
