Troubleshooting Guide

Problem: The airfryer does not work.

  • Possible Cause: The appliance is not plugged in.
  • Solution: Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
  • Possible Cause: The appliance is defective.
  • Solution: Contact your store for return/replacement.

Problem: Air fryer keeps powering off while you are trying to program time/temperature.

  • Possible Cause: During time/temperature selection, if START button is not pressed within 10 minutes, the unit will automatically turn off.
  • Solution: Do not wait more than 10 minutes after making selections to press START.

Problem: Food not completely cooked/fried.

  • Possible Cause: There is too much food in the Basket.
  • Solution: Use smaller batches of food. Small batches cook more evenly.
  • Possible Cause: The cooking temperature is set too low.
  • Solution: Increase the temperature setting. Check "Cooking Time Chart".
  • Possible Cause: The cooking time is too short.
  • Solution: Increase the time setting. Check "Cooking Time Chart".

Problem: Food cooked is uneven.

  • Possible Cause: Certain foods need to be stirred/mixed mid-way through the cooking process.
  • Solution: Foods that overlap inside the Basket need to be stirred mid-way through cooking. Refer to "During the Cooking/Frying Process".

Problem: Fried snacks are not crispy.

  • Possible Cause: You used a type of snack meant for traditional deep frying.
  • Solution: Use oven snacks or lightly brush some oil onto the snacks for a crispier result.
  • Possible Cause: The Basket is too full.
  • Solution: Do not fill the Basket above the MAX level.

Problem: I cannot close the Drawer Pan properly.

  • Possible Cause: The Basket is not aligned correctly.
  • Solution: Make sure the Basket is flush with the Drawer Pan.
  • Possible Cause: The Drawer Pan is not properly placed into air fryer.
  • Solution: Make sure there is no obstruction for the Drawer Pan to close properly.

Problem: White smoke is emitted out of the appliance during use.

  • Possible Cause: You are preparing food with a high oil content.
  • Solution: When cooking with oily foods, oil drains into the Drawer Pan. When the air fryer heats up, the pan heats the oil, producing white smoke. This does not adversely affect the air fryer or cooking process.
  • Possible Cause: The pan has built-up oil residue from previous uses.
  • Solution: White smoke is caused by oil leftover in the Drawer Pan. Make sure to thoroughly clean the Drawer Pan after every use.

Problem: Home-made French fries are coming out unevenly cooked.

  • Possible Cause: Your potatoes are not fresh or are frozen.
  • Solution: Make sure to use fresh and firm potatoes. Not frozen potatoes for home-made French fries.
  • Possible Cause: Potato strips were not thoroughly rinsed prior to frying.
  • Solution: Thoroughly rinse sliced potato to remove all starch prior to frying.

Problem: Your home-made French fries are not crispy after air frying.

  • Possible Cause: Crispy results are directly linked to the amount of oil and water content of the fresh potato strips.
  • Solution: Potato strips need to be thoroughly dried before adding oil. Slice potato strips thinner for crispier results. Use a bit more oil on the potato strips prior to frying for crispier results.
