Important Information
Battery
The battery installed at the factory may discharge during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of insufficient power (e.g., dim display), the battery should be replaced at the nearest authorized CASIO service center or CASIO dealer.
Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, the following are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater;
- Adjusting the hands underwater;
- Unscrewing the crown underwater;
If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Water Resistance Ratings
Watches are classified by water resistance ratings (from I to V) according to their level of water protection. Refer to the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.
Rating | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Car Washing, etc. | Diving, Snorkeling, etc. | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT / 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- 1 Watches are not water-resistant. Avoid exposure to any moisture;
II WR (Water Resistant) means the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems;
III Water resistance of 5 Bar (50 meters) means the watch can withstand the indicated water pressure and can be used while showering and for brief swimming;
IV Water resistance of 10 Bar (100 meters) means the watch can be used for normal swimming and snorkeling;
V Water resistance of 20 Bar (200 meters) means the watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Watch Care
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture gets inside the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest dealer or CASIO distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Although the watch is designed for active daily use, wear it carefully and avoid dropping it.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap.
- For cleaning the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a solution of mild neutral detergent. Never use volatile agents (e.g., gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.).
- When not using your watch, store it in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paints, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
- Some watch straps feature silkscreened designs. Be careful when cleaning such straps to avoid damaging the designs.
- For watches with resin straps: You may notice a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth. Exposure of resin straps to sweat or moisture, or storing them in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for resin straps, wipe them clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.
- For watches with fluorescent cases and straps: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible. Prolonged contact with any other damp surface may cause the fluorescent color to discolor. Check that the fluorescent surface is dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Rubbing surfaces with fluorescent paint against other surfaces may transfer the fluorescent color to those surfaces.
- When using the watch in conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This phenomenon is due to the laws of physics and is not a defect.
- CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch, and does not accept any claims from third parties.
- Your watch may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Operations
Operations with the Crown
Some water-resistant models (100m, 200m) are equipped with a screw-lock crown. Before pulling out the crown, first unscrew it to unlock by turning it towards you [turn crown to unlock]. Do not use excessive force when unlocking the crown. When the crown is unscrewed, the watch is no longer water-resistant. After performing the necessary operations with the crown, return it to its original position and screw it in to lock.
Setting the Current Day of the Week and Time
1. When the second hand is at the 12 o'clock position, pull out the crown to the 2nd click.
2. Turn the crown to set the current time and day of the week.
3. Return the crown to its original position.
Note:
- When setting the current time, pay attention to AM/PM.
- Set the minute hand 4-5 minutes past the desired time, then return it to set the exact time.
- The 24-hour hand indicates the current hour of the day. It completes one full rotation in 24 hours.
Setting the Date
1. Pull out the crown to the 1st click.
2. Turn the crown to set the date.
3. Return the crown to its original position.
Note:
- The date changes from 1 to 31. For months with fewer than 30 days, you must manually adjust the date.
- To ensure the date changes at midnight, do not set the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM.
Operations with the Rotating Bezel
Rotate the bezel to align the mark with the minute hand. After some time, you can tell how much time has passed since you aligned the mark with the minute hand.
