General Information and Precautions
To ensure proper use and longevity of your Casio watch, please observe the following precautions:
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures.
- While designed for active daily use, handle the watch with care and avoid dropping it.
- Do not fasten the watch strap too tightly; a finger should be able to fit between your wrist and the strap.
- To clean the watch and strap, use a dry, soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile agents such as gasoline, solvents, or spray cleaners.
- When not in use, store the watch in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
- Some models feature silk-screened designs on their straps. Clean these straps with caution to avoid damaging the designs.
Battery Information
The battery that powers your watch is factory-installed and may discharge during shipping and storage. If you notice the display becoming dim or unclear, it is time to replace the battery. Please contact an authorized Casio service center or dealer for battery replacement.
Water Resistance
Your watch's water resistance level is indicated by a rating. It is crucial to understand these ratings to use your watch correctly.
For all watches, never press buttons underwater, set the time underwater, or unscrew the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming, and avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Water Resistance Levels
Watches are classified by water resistance levels (I to V) according to their degree of protection. Refer to the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.
Level | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, Washing | Swimming, Snorkeling | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|
I | (No Marking) | ❌ No | ❌ No | ❌ No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | ✔️ Yes | ❌ No | ❌ No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | ✔️ Yes | ✔️ Yes | ❌ No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | ✔️ Yes | ✔️ Yes | ✔️ Yes |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | ✔️ Yes | ✔️ Yes | ✔️ Yes |
Notes on Water Resistance Ratings:
- II WR (Water Resistant): Indicates water resistance according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water is acceptable.
- III (5 Bar / 50 Meters): Suitable for showering and brief swimming.
- IV (10 Bar / 100 Meters): Suitable for normal swimming and snorkeling.
- V (20 Bar / 200 Meters): Suitable for scuba diving (excluding deep dives requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Watch Care
Never attempt to open the watch case or remove the back cover yourself.
The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2 to 3 years.
If moisture enters the inside of the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest dealer or Casio distributor.
General Description of Operating Modes
The illustration shows a general view of the watch and its functions. The analog display includes an hour hand, a minute hand, and a 24-hour hand. The stopwatch function utilizes its own second hand and minute hand. The crown, in its normal position, can be pulled out to two distinct clicks. The first click allows for setting the date, and the second click is used for setting the time. The date is displayed in a dedicated window.
Current Time Mode
Setting the Time
- Pull the crown out to the second click. The second hand will stop.
- Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
- Return the crown to its original position.
Some models feature a screw-lock crown. To pull out the crown, you may need to rotate it towards you first. Note that water resistance is lost if the crown is not securely locked.
Some models have a rotating bezel. Align the bezel marking with the minute hand's position. As time passes, the minute hand will indicate the minutes on the bezel.
Setting the Date
- Pull the crown out to the first click.
- Turn the crown towards you to set the date.
- Return the crown to its original position.
To avoid incorrect date settings, do not set the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM.
Stopwatch Mode
The Stopwatch mode allows you to measure elapsed time segments. The total measurable time is up to 59 minutes and 59.99 seconds.
- Press button "A" to start the stopwatch.
- Press button "A" again to stop the stopwatch.
- Press button "A" again to resume the stopwatch. You can stop and resume the stopwatch multiple times by pressing button "A".
- Press and hold button "B" to reset the stopwatch to zero.
Hand Position Adjustment
If the analog minute and second hands are not correctly aligned (e.g., after frequent stopwatch use), follow these steps to synchronize them with the digital display.
- Press button "B" to reset the stopwatch hands to zero. Verify that they are aligned correctly.
- Pull the crown out to the second click.
- Press button "A" to move the second hand forward until it reaches the 12 o'clock position.
- If the minute hand is correctly positioned, proceed to step 5. If not, press button "B" to reset the minute hand to zero.
- After completing the adjustments, return the crown to its original position.
Pulling the crown out stops the second hand. After synchronizing the hands, ensure you set the correct current time.
