Please read this important information first.
Battery
The battery installed at the factory may discharge during delivery and storage. If you notice signs of insufficient power (e.g., dim display), the battery needs to be replaced at the nearest authorized CASIO service center or a CASIO dealer.
Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, the following actions are prohibited while submerged in water:
- Pressing buttons
- Moving the crown (setting hands)
- Unscrewing the crown
If the watch comes into contact with salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it with a soft cloth. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Water Resistance Classification
Watches are classified by water resistance rating (from I to V) based on their degree of water protection. Consult the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.
Rating | Case Marking | Splash, Rain, Washing | Swimming, Light Activities | Scuba Diving, Snorkeling | Free Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT / 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Watches not marked as water resistant should avoid any contact with moisture.
Explanation of Water Resistance Ratings
- II WR (Water Resistant): Indicates the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
- III 5 Bar (50 Meters): The watch can withstand water pressure of the indicated value and can be used during showers and brief swimming.
- IV 10 Bar (100 Meters): The watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- V 20 Bar (200 Meters): The watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding deep dives requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Caring for Your Watch
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your dealer or a CASIO distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- While designed for active daily use, handle the watch with care and avoid dropping it.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly; a finger should fit between your wrist and the strap.
- For cleaning, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile substances like gasoline, solvents, or spray cleaners.
- When not in use, store your watch in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paints, etc. Chemical reactions can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's polish.
- Some models feature silk-screened designs on the strap. Clean these straps carefully to avoid damaging the graphics.
Care for Plastic Straps
- A white powdery substance may appear on plastic straps. This substance is harmless to skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.
- Sweat or moisture on a plastic strap, or storage in high humidity, can damage, tear, or crack the strap. To ensure a long service life, wipe the strap clean of dirt and moisture with a soft cloth whenever possible.
Care for Fluorescent Cases and Straps
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. Wipe off any moisture from the watch surface as quickly as possible.
- Prolonged contact with any other wet surface may cause discoloration of the fluorescent color. Check that the fluorescent surface is dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction between a surface with fluorescent color and another surface may transfer the fluorescent color to that surface.
General Notes
- In conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This is a normal phenomenon due to physical laws and is not a defect.
- CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch and does not accept claims from third parties.
- Your watch may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Crown Operations
Some models with 100m or 200m water resistance are equipped with a screw-lock crown. Before pulling out the crown, unscrew it to unlock (turn towards you). Do not use excessive force when unlocking the crown. When the crown is unscrewed, the watch is no longer water resistant. After performing the necessary operations, return the crown to its initial position and screw it in to lock.
Diagram showing a watch with its crown. The crown is labeled 'Crown'. An arrow indicates the direction to turn the crown for unlocking: 'Turn to unlock'.
Setting the Current Day of the Week and Time
1. When the second hand is at the 12 o'clock position, pull the crown out to the 2nd click.
2. Turn the crown to set the current time and day of the week.
3. Return the crown to its initial position.
Notes:
- When setting the current time, pay attention to AM/PM.
- Set the minute hand 4-5 minutes past the required time, then move it back to the correct time.
The 24-hour hand indicates the hour of the current day and completes one full rotation in 24 hours.
Diagrams show watch faces with sub-dials. Labels indicate the crown's positions: 'Crown (Initial position)', '1 click (Date setting)', and '2 clicks (Time and Day setting)'. Hands are labeled: 'Date hand', '24-hour hand', 'Day hand'. Specific module numbers are listed for each diagram.
Setting the Date
1. Pull the crown out to the 1st click.
2. Turn the crown to set the date.
3. Return the crown to its initial position.
Notes:
- The date changes from 1 to 31. For months with fewer than 30 days, you must manually correct the date.
- To ensure the date changes at midnight, do not set the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM.
Operations with Rotating Bezel
Rotate the bezel to align the mark with the minute hand. After some time, you can tell how much time has passed since you aligned the mark with the minute hand.
Diagram shows a watch with a rotating bezel. Labels indicate 'Start time', 'Current time', and 'Elapsed time', relating to the bezel's function.
