Installation
Follow these steps to install the SwitchBot Lock Pro.
Step 1: Check Cylinder Type
For knob cylinders: If the inside of the lock cylinder is a knob, remove it first according to the cylinder's manual. Select the appropriate cylinder adapter from the package and attach it to the cylinder. Ensure it allows the cylinder to rotate.
For keyhole cylinders: If the inside of the lock cylinder is a keyhole, proceed directly to the next step.
Cylinder Types and Adapters:
Cylinder Type | Adapter Size |
---|---|
EVVA, CES | 10 mm |
CISA, ABUS, AXA, ISEO, BRICARD | 7.9 mm / 6.9 mm |
KESO | 7 mm |
DORM, AKABA | 8 mm / 6 mm |
WINKHAUS, DOM | 13 mm |
NEMEF | 12 mm |
YALE, M&C | 8 mm |
MAUER | 9.5 mm |
Diagrams show different cylinder types with measurements and corresponding adapter illustrations.
Step 2: Choose Mounting Bracket
Measure the height of the protruding part of the cylinder.
- If the height is ≥ 3 mm, use Mounting Bracket A.
- If the height is < 3 mm, use Mounting Bracket B.
Diagrams illustrate measuring the cylinder protrusion and selecting bracket A or B.
Warning: Before starting installation, check if the lock cylinder allows unlocking the door from the outside even with the key inserted. If not, contact customer support for recommended lock cylinders and replace it before proceeding.
Step 3: Mount Mounting Bracket
Mounting Bracket A: Align the bracket's hole with the cylinder and attach it to the lock. Screw in three hex screws using the small hex screwdriver.
Mounting Bracket B: First, clean the mounting surface with the provided wet wipe. Apply the adhesive promoter to the mounting area. Peel off the 3M tape backing from the bracket, align its hole with the lock cylinder, and firmly attach it to the door. Press and hold for at least 2 minutes to ensure secure mounting.
Diagrams show the mounting process for both brackets, including cleaning and applying tape.
Tip: For small contact areas or concerns about tape adhesion, the bracket can also be secured with screws.
Step 4: Insert Key (for keyhole cylinders only)
Insert the key into the cylinder.
Diagram shows a key being inserted into a cylinder.
Step 5: Mount Lock Pro
Rotate the Lock Pro knob so the rear groove aligns with the key or cylinder adapter, and securely attach the key or cylinder adapter into the groove. Screw in four hex screws into the holes on both sides of the Lock Pro.
Diagrams show aligning the knob and securing the lock body with screws.
Step 6: Mount Magnet
Mount the magnet according to the Lock Pro's mounting position. It is recommended to align the top of the Lock Pro knob horizontally with the magnet, with a distance of 20 to 40 mm between them.
Diagrams show magnet placement and dimensions.
Note:
- Place the magnet with the marked side facing the Lock Pro knob. Otherwise, the device may not detect door opening or closing.
- If the tape on the back of the magnet does not adhere well, use the provided double-sided tape. Then, attach the magnet to the door frame.
Tip: After installation and calibration, the door status will be visible in the app, enabling features like automatic locking.
Step 7: Add Lock Pro to SwitchBot App and Calibrate
Remove the battery insulation tab. When powered on, the Lock Pro's LED indicator will slowly blink blue, indicating it is in pairing mode.
Open the SwitchBot app, tap the '+' icon in the top-right corner, select 'Add Device', find and select the device icon. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the Lock Pro and complete the calibration procedure.
Diagrams show removing the battery tab and the app interface for adding a device. A checkmark indicates successful pairing.
Step 8: Attach Temporary Support Tape
If using Mounting Bracket B, attach the temporary support tape at the end. As shown in the diagram, choose an angle and apply the tape (blue) to the Lock Pro. Ensure the tape is pressed against the Lock Pro and remains taut.
After 48 hours, gently remove the tape. The Lock Pro can be used normally within these 48 hours.
Diagram shows applying the temporary support tape.
Congratulations! You can now start using the lock.
