BEGA UniLink® 84821 K3 Garden Floodlight

Application

The BEGA UniLink® 84821 K3 is a portable garden floodlight designed for effective illumination of plants, smaller trees, and objects in private gardens. It consists of three floodlights with earth spikes and a 5-meter connecting cable with a plug connector. For connection to the mains, a separate mains plug must be ordered. Country-specific mains plugs with 0.5m connecting cables, extension cables, and five-way distribution boxes are available as accessories.

Product Description

The housing and earth spike are made of glass fibre reinforced synthetic material in a graphite color. It features safety glass with an optical structure and a silicone gasket. The reflector surface is made of pure aluminium. The spotlight offers a swivel range of -30°/+90° and allows for tool-free adjustment of the operating position. The cable length between the distributor and each floodlight is 3 meters. The main supply cable is 5 meters long and is an X05RN-F FEP 2x1 + 1G2.5 cable with a BEGA UniLink® plug-in connector (ø 23mm).

The safety class is II, and the protection class is IP 65 (dust-tight and protected against water jets). It has an impact strength of IK07 (protection against mechanical impacts < 2 joule). The product carries the CE conformity mark and weighs 1.7 kg. It contains light sources of energy efficiency class E.

Safety Precautions

National safety regulations must be observed for the installation and operation of this luminaire. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use or installation. If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person making these modifications is considered the manufacturer.

Caution: The BEGA UniLink® plug connectors may only be connected and disconnected in a voltage-free state.

Total Load

When configuring your lighting system, ensure that the maximum power consumption of 6A is not exceeded. The power consumption of the 84821 model is 0.07A.

Installation

It must be ensured that the circuit used is monitored via an automatic cutout of maximum 16A and a residual current circuit breaker.

Press the floodlight with its earth spike vertically into the soil until stability is achieved. If necessary, compact the soil around the earth spike.

Plug the floodlight's connecting cable into the plug contact of the connecting cable with the country-specific mains plug, or into the distribution box or extension cable.

To ensure a sufficiently low protective conductor resistance (loop resistance), the connecting cable of each luminaire in the system must not exceed a length of 50 meters from the entry point.

Adjusting the Floodlight: Undo the joint screw, adjust the floodlight to the desired position, and then tighten the joint screw.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Please note: Do not remove the desiccant bag from the luminaire housing; it is needed to absorb residual moisture.

Clean the luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers to remove dirt and deposits. Do not use high-pressure cleaners.

The connecting cable must be checked for external damage and may only be replaced by a qualified electrician.

Replacing the LED Module: The designation of the LED module is noted on its underside. BEGA replacement modules correspond to the original modules in light color and light output. Replacement can be performed by qualified persons using standard tools. Disconnect the system and open the luminaire. Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module. Inspect and, if necessary, replace the luminaire gaskets. Defective glass must be replaced. Close the luminaire.

  • Connecting cables: 5m with free line ends (71247), 0.5m with free line ends (71256).
  • BEGA UniLink® Five-way distribution box (71189).
