Product Overview

This document outlines the installation procedures for custom lever sets and accessories designed for SALTO Ælement and Ælement Fusion locking systems. It details requirements and steps for both EURO and ANSI standard installations.

General Requirements & Recommendations

Minimum Requirements

Roses (EURO & ANSI):

• EURO: Diameter of 54mm (2-1/8"), with a maximum spindle size of Ø6.3mm (1/4").
• ANSI: Diameter of 54mm (2-1/8"), with a maximum spindle size of Ø6mm (15/64").

Installation Steps & Guidelines

1. Fixing: Use through-fixing screws. Ensure the fixing system is included in the rose.
2. Handle Weight: Handles with a spring mechanism should be used. The maximum weight for a single handle is 350g (0.77 lb), evenly distributed.
3. Spindle Usage: The spindle must NOT be used as a means of fixing the handle or the rose.

Compatibility Notes

• SALTO is not liable for installations with unapproved handle sets.
• Handles must be fixed with through screws from the inside to the outside.
• Loose handles should not exceed a maximum weight of 350g (0.77 lb).
• After assembly, the handle rest position (horizontal) must be recovered comfortably with a minimum torque of 0.4/0.5 Nm.
• A weight of approximately 500g (1.1 lb) hung 100mm (3-15/16") away from the rotation axis should not cause the handle to fall.
• SALTO requires customer handle sets to be sent for quality approval to ensure compatibility with Ælement. This approval is functional; aesthetic aspects are the customer's responsibility.
• Combinations with third-party handles are not certified for fire tests (EN1634 or UL10C) unless specifically listed by SALTO (EN179).

Installation of Inside Thumbturn

With Keyhole

• The rose diameter must be at least 54mm to cover the door hole.
• For use with SALTO locks, a cylinder adapter (2) is required. The square spindle (3) must be 7mm.
• Ensure the spindle is long enough to operate the adapter without rubbing against the door mechanism.
• Mounting keyhole roses is advisable using a system of screws and bolts for enhanced security.

Operational Test

After installation, verify the correct operation of the assembly:

• Check that the inside handle smoothly retracts the deadbolt and latch.
