Fixture Diagram Description
The fixture diagram illustrates the assembly of the lighting fixture. Key components are labeled:
- [A] Upper Frame
- [B] Mounting Strap
- [C] Lower Frame
- [D] Strap Mounting Screws (Qty. 2)
- [E] Countersunk Screws (Qty. 3)
- [F] Outlet Box (not supplied)
- [G] Studded Knobs (Qty. 3)
The diagram shows how the upper frame [A] connects to the lower frame [C] using studded knobs [G], and how the mounting strap [B] attaches to the outlet box [F] with screws [D].
Cautions and Warnings
CAUTION – RISK OF SHOCK: Disconnect power at the main circuit breaker panel or main fusebox before starting and during installation.
WARNING: This fixture is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications. If you are not familiar with code requirements, installation by a certified electrician is recommended. Failure to adhere to these codes and instructions may result in serious injury and/or property damage and will void the warranty.
CLEANING:
- Always ensure electric current is turned off before cleaning.
- Use only a soft damp cloth. Harsh cleaning products may damage the finish.
Installation Instructions
- Carefully lower the upper frame [A] into the lower frame [C], aligning the three holes along the inside edge of the upper frame with the three holes along the top edge of the lower frame.
- Insert a studded knob [G] into each set of aligned holes and tighten to secure the upper frame to the lower frame.
- Attach the mounting strap [B] to the outlet box [F] using the strap mounting screws [D].
- Grounding Instructions (See Illustrations a or b):
- Illustration a: For fixtures with a mounting strap having a hole and two raised dimples, wrap the ground wire from the outlet box around the green ground screw and thread it into the hole.
- Illustration b: For fixtures with a cupped washer, attach the ground wire from the outlet box under the cupped washer and green ground screw, and thread it into the mounting strap.
- Make wire connections. Refer to the chart below for correct connections.
- Raise the fixture to the ceiling, carefully passing the upper frame [A] over the mounting strap [B], and aligning the three holes in the side of the upper frame with the three holes in the side of the mounting strap.
- NOTE: Ensure wires do not get pinched between the mounting strap and upper frame, or upper frame and ceiling.
- While holding the upper frame in place, insert a countersunk screw [E] into each set of aligned holes and tighten to secure the fixture to the mounting strap.

*Note: When parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2) is used, the neutral wire is square shaped or ridged, and the other wire will be round in shape or smooth.
