Checklist Before Using the Device
- Enable your smartphone Bluetooth.
- Bluetooth hub required for connection when wireless remote control is needed.
Device Overview
The device is a compact Bluetooth Smart Switch with terminals labeled 'L' (Live), 'N' (Neutral) for input, and 'Output' for the connected appliance. It features certifications such as CE, RoHS, and FC [FCC Certified]. It also displays icons indicating compatibility with Alexa [Works with Alexa] and Google Assistant [Works with Google Assistant].
System Connection Diagram
The system diagram illustrates the connection flow: A Router connects to the Internet and a Server. The Bluetooth Switch connects wirelessly via Bluetooth to a Bluetooth Hub. The Bluetooth Hub then communicates with the Server. A smartphone running Android or iOS can connect to the Server via an APP (Smart Life APP) to control the Bluetooth Switch.
Download Smart Life APP
To use the device, download the "Smart Life" APP. Scan the provided QR codes or search for "Smart Life" on the App Store [App Store] or Google Play [Google Play].
User Guide: Bluetooth Link Method
1. Initial Setup
- Start by opening the "Smart Life" App.
- Register for a Smart Life account or log in if you already have one.
- Power up the Bluetooth Smart Switch.
ON/OFF Operating Principle: The connected appliances work or stop based on the live wire's power status, controlled by the switch.
2. Wiring Instructions
Note: The Bluetooth Switch must be powered by N (Neutral) and L (Live) wires.
2.1 Appliance Wiring Instruction
Connect the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires to the switch's input terminals. Connect the appliance's live wire to the switch's output terminal.
2.2 Ceiling Lamp Wiring Instruction
Connect Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires to the switch's input. Connect the switch's output to an LED Driver, and then connect the LED Driver to the ceiling lamp.
2.3 Light Wiring Instruction
Similar to the ceiling lamp wiring, connect Live (L) and Neutral (N) to the switch input. The switch output connects to the light source (e.g., bulb) directly or via a driver.
3. Device Pairing
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- Press and hold the button on the switch for about 7 seconds until the blue LED blinks fast.
- In the Smart Life App, click "Search new device". Confirm that your module is blinking fast.
- After the device is found, click the "DONE" button.
- You can edit the device name and then finish the operation by clicking "DONE" again. The app will confirm "Device added successfully".
Reset Method
To reset the device, press and hold the button for about 7 seconds until the blue LED blinks fast.
Troubleshooting
Q: How to set indicator light as rapid flashing?
- Power on the device.
- Hold the reset button for 7 seconds.
- Confirm the indicator light is now rapidly flashing.
Bluetooth Switch Module Fails to be Connected:
- Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is turned on.
- If using a Bluetooth hub for wireless control, ensure the switch is not too far from the hub. Move them closer if necessary.
Set up with Echo Speaker via Alexa App
Preparation:
- Ensure you have installed the Smart Life app and registered an account.
- Open the Amazon Alexa App and sign in with your Alexa account credentials.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to set up a new device, such as an Echo. When prompted, long-press the small dot on your Echo device until the light ring turns yellow, then click "Continue" on the app.
- Connect your Echo device to your Wi-Fi network by following the app's instructions.
Enable Smart Life Skill in Alexa App
- In the Alexa App, navigate to "Skills" in the options bar.
- Search for "Smart Life" in the input box.
- Select "Smart Life" from the search results and click "Enable Skill".
- You will be prompted to link your Smart Life account. Enter the username and password for your Smart Life account.
Control the Light Switch by Voice (Alexa)
After successful setup, you can control the Light Switch using voice commands via Echo.
1. Discover Devices
Say to your Echo device: "Echo (or Alexa), discover my devices." Echo will search for devices added in the Smart Life APP. This may take about 20 seconds. Alternatively, you can click "Discover devices" within the Alexa App to find and list your devices.
2. Control Device by Voice
Note: The device name in Alexa must match the name given in the Smart Life APP for consistent control.
You can group the Light Switch with other devices and issue commands to control them together.
Example Commands:
- "Alexa (or Echo), turn on the Light Switch."
- "Alexa (or Echo), turn off the Light Switch."
Note on Wake-up Names: Echo's wake-up name can be set to Alexa, Echo, or Amazon.
Activate Smart Life in Google Home App
Preparation:
- Have downloaded the Google Home App, compatible with Android (4.2 or higher) or iOS (8.0 or higher) smartphones or tablets.
- Have registered a Google Account.
- Have paired the Light Switch with the Smart Life App and named it with a recognizable name.
- Have finished setting up your Google Home device.
Setup Steps:
STEP 1
Open the Google Home App. Tap the menu icon [☰] in the upper left corner and select "More Settings" to proceed.
STEP 2
In the "More Settings" menu, choose "Services" from the options bar and select "Smart Life" from the list.
STEP 3
Tap "Link Account". You will be redirected to sign in with your Smart Life account credentials.
STEP 4
Tap "Link Now". After your Smart Life account is successfully linked to Google Assistant, your smart devices will automatically appear in the Google Home App.
Command the Device through Your Voice (Google Home)
Once setup is complete, you can control the device via Google Home.
Firstly, say: "OK Google, talk to Smart Life" to activate the Smart Life service.
Then, you can issue commands such as:
- "OK Google, turn on the Light Switch."
- "OK Google, turn off the Light Switch."
Note: After Smart Life is activated, you can say "Cancel" or "Stop" to exit Smart Life, or say "Nothing" when prompted "What can I do for you?". To re-engage, say "OK Google, talk to Smart Life" again.
