ZigBee Smart Switch
User Manual
Product Description
This newly designed smart switch, available in 1, 2, or 3 gang options, utilizes the ZigBee protocol to replace traditional switches with versatile control methods. It supports two wiring configurations: N+L wire or L wire only. A ZigBee hub is required for normal operation. A new multi-control association feature (for N+L wire only) allows association with other smart switches within the Smart Life/Tuya App, enabling all control modes to function without interference. Its design complements various decoration styles.

Warnings:
- Turn off the power at the circuit breaker and test that power is off before wiring.
Installation
Note: Ensure power is off at the circuit breaker before wiring. Two versions are available: one requiring a Neutral wire and one that does not. Ensure correct wiring based on the switch version purchased. If your switch requires a neutral wire, confirm your wall box contains one (typically white). If not, try another location or consult a professional electrician. Wire colors in this manual are typical and may vary. Ensure wire conductors are securely fastened. Verify a steady Wi-Fi signal and that your mobile device and Zigbee gateway hub are on the same 2.4GHz WiFi network. If inexperienced, consult a professional electrician.
Step 1: Turn off Power
Turn off the circuit breaker and use an electrical tester to confirm power is off before proceeding with wiring.
Step 2: Remove the Old Switch
Remove the faceplate and carefully pull the old switch away from the wall.
Step 3: Identify Wires
Identify the Line/Load wires. Note that wire colors may differ from the manual's illustrations.
Verify power is off:
We recommend removing the faceplate from the old switch and using an electrical tester on all connected wires to ensure no voltage is present. You may need to turn off multiple circuit breakers.
Step 4: Wiring
Follow the wiring diagram to connect the switch wires to the wall box wires using wire conductors.
Wiring Diagram Description:
- For N+L Wire Version: Connect the Neutral wire (N) to the N terminal on the switch. Connect the Line wire (L) to the L terminal on the switch. Connect the Load wires (L1, L2, L3 for 1, 2, or 3 gang) to the corresponding terminals on the switch.
- For L Wire Only Version: Connect the Line wire (L) to the L terminal on the switch. Connect the Load wires (L1, L2, L3 for 1, 2, or 3 gang) to the corresponding terminals on the switch. The Neutral wire is not connected to the switch in this version.
- Multi-control Association (Optional): For multi-control, the L and N wires are connected to the main switch. Additional associated switches are wired to the load output of the main switch or directly to the load if they are also N+L versions.
Step 5: Mount the Switch
Open the switch panel from the bottom using a [screwdriver]. Mount the switch with the provided screws and snap the wall plate on it.
Step 6: Restore Power
Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker and test the light switch.
Add Devices (Smart Life App Configuration)
Preparation: Ensure the switch is connected to power, and your mobile device and Zigbee gateway hub are on the same 2.4GHz WiFi network. Disconnect from 5GHz networks if necessary.
1. Download Smart Life App
Search for "Smart Life" on the App Store or Google Play and download the application.
2. Registration or Log In
Open the "Smart Life" app. Navigate to the Register/Login interface. Tap "Register" to create an account using your phone number to receive a verification code and set a password. If you already have an account, choose "Log in".
3. Configure the APP to the Switch (ZigBee Link Method)
Add Device:
- Open the Smart Life app and select the "+" icon in the top right corner.
- Choose "Switch (Zigbee)" from the device list.
- Select the correct Zigbee gateway hub to confirm the connection. Ensure a Zigbee gateway hub is already successfully connected.
- Confirm the Zigbee switch's blue indicator is blinking rapidly (twice per second). If not, press and hold the button for approximately 7 seconds until it blinks fast.
- Tap "Confirm indicator blinks rapidly" in the app.
Connecting: The app will search for the device. Keep your router, mobile, and device close together. The connection process typically takes 10-120 seconds.
Device Added: Once pairing is complete, the Zigbee switch will appear in the "All Devices" list in the app.
3.1 Re-pair and Clear ZigBee Code
To reset or re-pair the ZigBee code, press and hold the button on the switch for about 7 seconds, until the blue indicator flashes rapidly. This indicates a successful reset/re-pair.
Multi-Control Association (Only for N+L Wire Version)
Note: This feature requires the switch to be successfully added to your Smart Life App first. This function is only available for the N+L wire version.
- Ensure another smart switch is added to the same Smart Life/Tuya App. If a smart switch is already added, proceed to the next step.
- For N+L wire switches, the new associated switch does not need to be wired to the light; only L and N connections are required for power. This allows multiple switches to control one light via the app. If your switch does not require a neutral wire, wire it according to the instructions to connect to the light, enabling simultaneous control.
- In the app, you will see two devices. Tap on the main switch (e.g., a single gang switch) to enter its settings.
- Tap the menu icon [menu] in the upper right corner and select "Multi-Control Association". Then, tap the "+" icon in the right corner.
- Choose the switch you want to associate and select the specific button on that switch that will control the same light.
- Return to the previous page. You will see the main switch and the associated switch listed. Ensure the associated switch is enabled.
- You can now control the light with multiple switches. Do not associate another button on the same switch for multi-control.
- To add a third or more smart switches, repeat the steps above. The app will display the main switch and all associated switches.
Alexa Integration
Note: Ensure you have completed the Smart Life app configuration and device networking.

- Select your [Wi-Fi] network and wait for connection. After an introduction video, tap "Next Step" to reach the Alexa Home page.
Link Skill:
- In the Alexa app menu, tap "Skills".
- Search for "Smart Life" (or the relevant app name). Tap "Enable" to activate the skill.
- Enter your Smart Life app account and password, then tap "Link Now" to connect your accounts.
Device Name: In the Smart Life app, rename your device to an easily identifiable name (e.g., "bed light", typically in English) for voice commands.
2. Common Voice Commands
Control your smart device using voice commands with Echo:
- "Alexa, turn on/off [device name]." (e.g., "Alexa, turn on/off bedroom light.")
- "Alexa, set [device name] to 50 percent." (Adjust brightness)
- "Alexa, brighten/dim [device name]." (Increase/decrease brightness)
- "Alexa, set [device name] to green." (Adjust color - if applicable to the device)
