Grounding Instructions:
This product must be grounded. Grounding provides a path of least resistance for electrical current to reduce the risk of electric shock in case of malfunction. The product is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate, properly installed, and grounded outlet in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
DANGER: Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if you are unsure about grounding. Do not modify the plug; have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician if it does not fit.
This product is for use on a normal 120-volt circuit. It has a grounding plug that looks like sketch (A). A temporary adapter (sketches B and C) may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle if a properly grounded plug is not available, but only until a properly grounded outlet can be installed. The green-colored tab on the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground, such as a properly grounded outlet box cover, secured by a metal screw.
For all grounded cord-connected products:
Grounding methods:
- (A) Grounded Outlet with Grounded Pin
- (B) Adapter connecting to a 2-pole receptacle
- (C) Adapter with tab for grounding screw, connected to a grounded outlet box with a metal screw.
Temporary adapters are not permitted in Canada.

Care and Maintenance
To keep your product working and looking its best, follow these simple care guidelines.
WARNING:
- Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
- When cleaning the remote control or power switch, use a dry cloth only. Never use a damp cloth on any electrical component.
CAUTION:
- Test any cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous part of the product first to ensure colorfastness before applying to the entire surface.
- Do not use benzene, thinner, or other solvents on your product.
Cleaning Code Standard for SofHyde or Cloth: W
To maintain your Human Touch product in optimum condition, dust frequently and/or vacuum with a soft brush attachment. If dirty, use a water-based upholstery cleaner only. For stains, spot clean with an upholstery shampoo or a mild detergent foam. For foot/calf massage well inserts, remove them, hand-wash with mild detergent, and line dry.
Maintenance and Repair:
- The mechanics are designed and constructed to be maintenance-free; no periodic lubrication or servicing is required.
- Your chair should only be serviced by a Human Touch-authorized service representative.
Use and Storage Environment:
- Do not place the chair in direct or reflected sunlight, as UV rays will quickly fade upholstery and cause rapid deterioration of SofHyde.
- Operate your chair in room temperatures between 41°F and 104°F (5°C to 40°C) with humidity levels of 10% to 70% (non-condensing) to avoid damage.
- To prevent upholstery damage, ensure pockets are free of sharp objects and metal buttons/zippers before sitting.
- Avoid placing the chair where excessive dust and pet hair can migrate into electrical and mechanical components, which can cause malfunction over time.
- When not in use for extended periods, cover the chair, coil the power cord, and store in a dust- and moisture-free environment.
- Store your chair in temperatures between 5°F and 122°F (-15°C to 50°C) with humidity levels of 10% to 70% (non-condensing) to avoid damage. Products stored in cold temperatures may require 48 hours at room temperature to function properly.
- Do not store near open heat or flame.
In Case of a Power Surge
Your massage chair has a built-in fuse to protect against power surges. If a surge occurs, inspect and replace the fuse if blown.
To replace a fuse:
- Power OFF the chair and unplug it from the wall outlet.
- Pry the fuse holder from the compartment adjacent to the power plug input (Fig. 20).
- Replace the fuse with a new one of the same value as the original (listed on the fuse compartment cover), then reinsert the fuse holder.
- Plug the chair back into the wall outlet and power it ON.

- Turn the chair's power switch (on the rear of the chair) to OFF.
- Unplug the chair from the power source.
