TRV Valve Adapters Installation Guide
This guide provides instructions for fitting Thermostatic Radiator Valve (TRV) adapters to various radiator valve types, ensuring compatibility and proper installation of your smart heating system components.
Compatible Valve Types and Adapter Requirements
TRV adapters are essential for connecting smart TRV heads to different valve bodies. The following table outlines common valve types and the specific adapter sizes typically required:
Valve Type | Required Adapter Size |
---|---|
Danfoss RA valves | H13mm |
Danfoss RAV valves | H13mm |
Danfoss RAVL valves | H4.8mm |
Caleffi valves | H8.6mm |
Giacomini valves | H8.6mm |
M28 valves | H11mm |
Note on M28 Valves: If your M28 valve features an M30 x 1.5mm thread, you may be able to install the TRV directly without using any adapters.
Installation Steps
Follow these steps for a successful installation:
- Prepare Accessories: Open the adapter bag. It typically contains 6 adapters, 1 screw, and 1 nut. Take out the specific adapter needed for your valve type.
- Separate Extending Rod (if applicable): Some adapter kits include an extending rod. If yours does, separate it from the main adapter.
- Attach Adapter to Valve: Carefully place the adapter onto the radiator valve body. Ensure it is oriented correctly and fits securely, paying attention to any snap grooves that aid in proper seating.
- Secure Adapter: Use the provided screws and nuts to tighten the adapter onto the valve. If you separated an extending rod in step 2, plug it into the adapter at this stage.
- Install TRV: Once the adapter is securely fitted, mount the Thermostatic Radiator Valve (TRV) head onto the adapter.
Important Consideration: If your adapter kit does not include extending rods or screw holes, you can skip the steps related to installing rods and screws.
