Getting Started
Before powering on your computer for the first time, connect the supplied HP AC adapter (for select products) or an adapter rated between 65 W and 100 W, depending on your product.
To connect to the internet via WLAN, you will need a broadband modem (DSL or cable, purchased separately), internet service from a provider, and a wireless router (purchased separately).
Operating System Information
For Windows Products
To learn more about Windows and access help topics, select the Start button, then All apps, and then Tips or Get Help (requires a network connection). To access user guides, select the Search icon, type HP Documentation, and then select HP Documentation.
For Linux Products
To access user guides, double-click the HP Documents icon on the desktop.
For FreeDOS Products
To access user guides, select HP Documents from the Boot Menu.
Finding More Information and Support
For the latest information about your computer, including user guides, updates, accessories, cleaning, RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), and upgrades, visit http://www.hp.com/support and follow the instructions to find your product. Then select Setup & User Guides.

System Information
System information is provided on the service label or found in one of the following locations: on the bottom of the computer, on the back of the display, inside the battery bay, or under the service cover. The label may be paper or printed on the product. On some Windows products, you can briefly press the fn+esc key combination to display the System Information screen.

Safety Warnings
Electrical Shock Hazard
To reduce the risk of electric shock:
- Plug the power cord into an AC outlet that is easily accessible at all times.
- If the power cord has a 3-pin plug, plug it into a grounded (3-pin) outlet.

Risk of Serious Injury
To reduce the risk of serious injury, read the "Safety and Comfort Guide," provided with the user guides. It describes proper workstation setup and provides information on posture, health, and correct work habits for computer users. Risk of Burns or Overheating
To prevent possible injury from burns or overheating of the computer, do not place the computer directly on your lap or block the computer's ventilation openings. Use the computer only on hard, flat surfaces. Do not allow airflow to be blocked by another hard surface, such as an optional printer, or by soft surfaces such as pillows, blankets, or clothing. Also, during use, do not allow the AC adapter to come into contact with skin or soft surfaces like pillows, blankets, or clothing. The computer and AC adapter supplied by HP comply with the user-accessible surface temperature limits defined by applicable safety standards.

The Regulatory Model Number (RMN) for this equipment is HSN-I60C or HSN-I61C.

Software Terms
By installing, copying, downloading, or otherwise using any pre-installed software product on this computer, you agree to be bound by the terms of the HP End-User License Agreement (EULA). If you do not accept these license terms, your sole remedy is to return the entire unused product (hardware and software) within 14 days for a full refund according to the seller's refund policy.

HP Services Scan and HP TechPulse
HP Services Scan is provided with Windows Update on select products. It verifies entitlement on each hardware device to determine if an HP TechPulse-enabled service was purchased and automatically downloads applicable software. HP TechPulse is a telemetry and analytics platform that provides critical data about devices and applications. For complete system requirements or to disable this feature, visit http://www.hpdaas.com/requirements. Not applicable to China.
Limited Warranty
In some countries or regions, HP may provide a printed warranty in the box. For countries or regions where the warranty is not provided in printed format, you can request a copy from http://www.hp.com/go/orderdocuments. For products purchased in the Asia Pacific region, you can write to HP at POD, PO Box 161, Kitchener Road Post Office, Singapore 912006. Include your product name, your name, phone number, and mailing address.

Navigating the Windows Start Screen
Depending on your product, you can use a keyboard and mouse, touchpad, or touchscreen to navigate the Windows Start screen.
Displaying the Start Menu
Select the Start button.
Finding Settings
Select the Start button, then select the Settings icon.
Shutting Down the Computer
Select the Start button, select the Power icon, then select Shut down.
Search
Select the Search icon on the taskbar, then type an application name, setting, file, or internet topic in the search box.
Switching Between Open Applications
Select the Task View icon.
The features and appearance of the Windows screen vary depending on the operating system version and any additional software installed on your computer.
Gestures
Some computers support a touchscreen, but some computers, applications, and files may not support all touch gestures.
Touchpad or Touchscreen Gestures:
- Select: Touch or double-tap.
- Zoom: Pinch to zoom.
Touchscreen Only Gestures:
- Scroll: Swipe.
Touchpad Only Gestures:
- Right-click: Tap.
- Navigate: Swipe.
Multi-finger Gestures:
For details on multi-finger gestures, select Start, select Settings, select Bluetooth & devices, then select Touchpad.
