Locate System Information
System information is provided on the service label or found in one of the following locations: the bottom of the computer, the back of the display, inside the battery bay, or beneath the service door. The label may be in paper form or imprinted on the product. In some Windows products, you can briefly press the fn+esc key combination to display the System Information screen.

To Reduce the Possibility of Heat-Related Injuries or of Overheating the Computer:
Do not place the computer directly on your lap or obstruct the computer air vents. Use the computer only on a hard, flat surface. Do not allow another hard surface, such as an adjoining optional printer, or a soft surface, such as pillows or rugs or clothing, to block airflow. Also, do not allow the AC adapter to contact the skin or a soft surface, such as pillows or rugs or clothing, during operation. The computer and the AC adapter provided by HP comply with the user-accessible surface temperature limits defined by applicable safety standards.

HP Services Scan
HP Services Scan is provided with Windows Update on select products and will check entitlement on each hardware device to determine if an HP TechPulse-enabled service has been purchased, and will download applicable software automatically. HP TechPulse is a telemetry and analytics platform that provides critical data around devices and applications. For full system requirements or to disable this feature, please visit http://www.hpdaas.com/requirements. Not applicable in China.

Initial Setup and Product Overview
First Time Power On
Before you press the power button to turn on the computer for the first time, either connect the HP AC adapter provided with the computer (select products only) or a minimum 65 W adapter to maximum 100 W adapter, depending on your product.
Network Connection
Select the [Network icon] in the lower-right corner of the taskbar, and then connect to one of the available networks.
To set up a WLAN and connect to the internet, you need a broadband modem (DSL or cable, purchased separately), internet service purchased from an internet service provider, and a wireless router (purchased separately).
Ports and Features
The following lists the numbered and lettered features shown in the diagram. Actual computer color, features, feature locations, icon labels, and accessories might vary from the image depicted.
- 1 Internal microphones (2): Used for audio input.
- 2 Camera lights (2): Indicate camera activity.
- 3 Camera privacy cover: Physical cover for the camera.
- 4 Ambient light and color sensor: Adjusts screen brightness and color based on surroundings.
- 5 Internal wireless antenna(s)*: For Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
- 6 Cameras (2): For video conferencing and other camera functions.
- 7 Power button/Fingerprint reader*: Turns the computer on/off and used for biometric login.
- 8 Windows Copilot key**: Activates the Copilot feature in Windows.
- 9 Touchpad - Windows key: Integrated pointing device and Windows key.
- q HDMI port: For connecting to external displays.
- w USB Type-C™ Thunderbolt™ ports (2): High-speed data transfer, display output, and power delivery.
- e Battery light: Indicates battery status.
- r Audio-out (headphone)/Audio-in (microphone) combo jack: Connects headphones and/or a microphone.
- t Magnetic pen attachment area: For magnetically attaching a stylus.
- y Nano SIM card slot: For cellular connectivity (requires SIM card).
- u Battery light: Indicates battery status.
- i USB Type-C port: For data transfer, charging, and display output.

Windows Start Screen Navigation
Display the Start Menu
Select the [Start button] .
Find Settings
Select the [Start button] , and then select the [Settings icon] .
Shut Down Your Computer
Select the [Start button] , select the [Power icon] , and then select Shut down.
Search
Select the [Search icon] in the taskbar, and then type the name of an app, setting, file, or internet topic in the search box.
Switch Between Open Apps
Select the [Task view icon] .
The features and appearance of the Windows screen vary, depending on the version of the operating system and additional software installed on your computer.
Gestures
Some computers support a touchscreen, but some computers, apps, and files might not support all touch gestures.
