How to Change Spark Plugs on Mercedes W245

Recommended Sequence of Steps
Step 1: Open the hood.
Description: Open the vehicle's hood to access the engine compartment.
Step 2: Use a fender protection cover.
Description: Apply a fender protection cover to prevent damage to the car's paintwork and plastic parts.
Step 3: Remove spark plug wire connectors.
Description: Carefully remove the spark plug wire connectors from the spark plug wells using round-nose pliers.
Step 4: Clean spark plug wells.
Description: Clean any dirt, dust, or debris from inside the spark plug wells.
Step 5: Unscrew the spark plugs.
Description: Use the spark plug socket #16 and a ratchet wrench to unscrew the old spark plugs.
Step 6: Take out the spark plugs.
Description: Remove the old spark plugs from their seats.
Step 7: Apply anti-seize lubricant.
Description: Apply a thin layer of high-temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs.
Step 8: Install new spark plugs.
Description: Install the new spark plugs into their mounting seats.
Step 9: Tighten spark plugs.
Description: Screw in the new spark plugs and tighten them using the spark plug socket #16 and a torque wrench. Tighten to 27 Nm torque.
Step 10: Install spark plug wire connectors.
Description: Install the spark plug wire connectors back into the spark plug wells. Ensure you hear a click to confirm they are locked in place.
Step 11: Run the engine.
Description: Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to ensure the component operates properly.
Step 12: Shut off the engine.
