Installation Guide
Step 1: Prepare the Door & Check Dimensions
Ensure your door meets the following specifications:
-
Door Hole Diameter: The main hole in the door should be 1-1/2" or 2-1/8" (38mm or 54mm).
Diagram shows a door with a circular hole labeled "1-1/2" or 2-1/8" (38mm or 54mm)".
-
Door Edge Hole Diameter: The hole on the door edge should be 1" (25mm).
Diagram shows a door edge with a hole labeled "1" (25mm)".
-
Backset: The backset of the latch should be either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm).
Diagram shows a door with a backset measurement labeled "2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm)".
-
Door Thickness: The door thickness should be between 1-3/8" to 2" (35mm to 50mm).
Diagram shows a door edge with a thickness measurement labeled "1-3/8" to 2" (35mm to 50mm)".
-
Door Frame Alignment: Ensure the door frame is aligned with the door and has no obstructions.
Diagram shows a door frame with a 1" (25mm) deep hole, indicating alignment and no obstructions.
Optional: Instructions for doors with 1-1/2" (38mm) holes
-
Test Latch Hole Extension: Temporarily install the Latch bolt.
- If the Latch bolt fits properly, no adjustment is needed. ✔️
- If the Latch bolt is stuck, you need to extend the Latch hole.
Diagrams show the latch bolt fitting properly (green checkmark) and fitting improperly (red cross). Another diagram shows using a 1" (25.4mm) Drill Bit for Wood to extend the latch hole to a depth of at least 13/64" (5mm) deep.
-
Test Extended Latch Hole: Temporarily install the Latch bolt and rotate it with a screwdriver to test if it extends and retracts properly.
Diagram shows testing the latch bolt with a screwdriver. A magnified view shows the "Cam" mechanism. If the Latch bolt is stuck, remove it and chisel a small channel at the top of the hole for the Cam to rotate.
Step 2: Install the Latch & Strike
-
Confirm Backset and Adjust Latch: Hold the Latch in front of the door hole, flush against the door edge. Check if the slotted hole is centered.
- If YES, no adjustment is needed. ✔️
- If NO, the slotted hole is NOT centered. ❌
Diagrams illustrate checking latch centering. If adjustment is needed, rotate and pull the Latch to extend it for 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm) backsets.
-
Install the Latch:
- For Chiseled Doors: Insert the latch into the door hole.
- For Not Chiseled Doors: Insert the latch and use the Drive-In Collar (N) if needed, then secure with Latch Screws (J).
Diagrams show the latch installation process for both chiseled and non-chiseled doors, including the use of Latch Screws (J) and the Drive-In Collar (N).
-
Test Latch Bolt: Use a screwdriver to test if the Latch bolt extends and retracts properly.
Important: Before installation, the Latch bolt should be retracted completely (in the unlocked position).
Diagrams show the Latch bolt in "Unlocked" (checkmark) and "Locked" (cross) positions.
-
Install Strike on Door Frame:
Important: Make sure the hole in the door frame is drilled a minimum of 1" (25mm) deep.
Diagram shows the Strike (D) being installed on the door frame using Strike Screws (I).
Step 3: Install Exterior Assembly
-
Measure Door Hole Diameter:
Diagram shows measuring the door hole diameter, which should be 1-1/2" or 2-1/8" (38mm or 54mm).
- If the diameter is 2-1/8" (54mm), proceed to the next step.
- If the diameter is 1-1/2" (38mm), remove the spacer on the exterior assembly.
Diagram shows removing a spacer from the exterior assembly.
-
Route Cable and Insert Torque Blade: Route the cable below the Latch and insert the Torque Blade through the slot in the Latch.
Note: Do not insert the Mechanical Key into the cylinder during installation.
Diagram shows routing the cable and inserting the Torque Blade horizontally into the latch slot.
-
Install Mounting Plate: Install the Mounting Plate using Mounting Plate Screws (K). Do not overtighten screws.
Note: Keep the mounting plate parallel to the door edge.
Diagram shows installing the Mounting Plate with screws, with an optional Exterior Assembly Screw (F).
Step 4: Install Interior Assembly
-
Disassemble Battery Cover: Remove the Battery Cover (H).
Diagram shows the Battery Cover being removed, with an upward arrow indicating direction.
-
Connect Cable: Insert the cable connector into the socket on the interior assembly. Push firmly until completely attached.
Diagram shows connecting the cable from the exterior assembly to the socket on the interior assembly.
-
Attach Interior Assembly: Attach the Interior Assembly to the Mounting Plate and tighten 3 screws.
NOTE: Be sure not to use the wrong screws, or it may lead to short-circuit and other problems.
Diagram shows attaching the Interior Assembly and tightening it with Interior Assembly Screws (L).
-
Insert Batteries and Cover: Insert 4 AA Alkaline batteries and put on the Battery Cover.
Diagram shows inserting four AA batteries into the interior assembly and closing the Battery Cover. The lock is shown in the "Unlocked" state.

The Latch bolt keeps going in and out.
Disassemble and reinstall the lock following the installation tips:
- Do not insert the Mechanical Key into the lock cylinder before or during installation.
- Keep the Latch fully retracted and the Torque Blade horizontal.
- Ensure the cable is routed below the Latch.
- The Exterior and Interior Assemblies should be installed parallel to the door edge.
I cannot remove my key unless it is in the locked position.
Uninstall the Interior and Exterior Assemblies. Before re-installation, follow these guidelines:
- Make sure the Latch bolt is in the retracted position.
- Do not insert the Mechanical Key into the lock cylinder before or during installation.

Fail to reset.
- The battery is low (indicator light flashes). Replace with 4 new Alkaline batteries.
- Refer to the "How to Reset" section and perform a resetting again.
How to lock manually on the Keypad from outside?
- Touch ✔️ once.
- Press and hold any button for 2 seconds.
