Installation Guide

Step 1: Prepare the Door & Check Dimensions

Ensure your door meets the following specifications before installation:

  1. Door Hole Diameter: The hole in the door should be 1-1/2" or 2-1/8" (38mm or 54mm).
  2. Door Edge Hole Diameter: The hole in the door edge should be 1" (25mm).
  3. Backset: The distance from the door edge to the center of the door hole should be either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm).
  4. Door Thickness: The door thickness should be between 1-3/8" and 2" (35mm to 50mm).

NOTE: Make sure the door frame is aligned with the door and that there are no obstructions stuck in the door frame.

Instructions for doors with 1-1/2" (38mm) holes:

1. Test Latch Hole Extension:

Temporarily install the Latch bolt. If it fits properly, no extension is needed. If the Latch bolt is stuck, you need to extend the latch hole.

  • To extend the latch hole, use a 1" (25.4mm) Drill Bit for Wood.
  • Drill at least 13/64" (5mm) deep.

2. Test Extended Latch Hole:

Temporarily install the Latch bolt and rotate it with a screwdriver to test if it extends and retracts properly. If the Latch bolt is still stuck, remove the Latch bolt and chisel out a small channel at the top of the hole to allow the Cam to rotate freely.

Step 2: Install the Latch & Strike

1. Confirm Backset and Adjust Latch:

Hold the Latch in front of the door hole, flush against the door edge. Ensure the slotted hole is centered in the door hole. If it is not centered, rotate and pull the Latch to extend or retract it to the correct backset (2-3/8" or 2-3/4").

2. Install the Latch:

For Chiseled Doors: Insert the latch into the door hole.

For Not Chiseled Doors: If using the Drive-In Collar (M), attach it to the latch and insert into the door hole.

Secure the Latch using the Latch Screws (I).

3. Test Latch Bolt Operation:

Use a screwdriver to test if the Latch bolt extends and retracts properly. Important: Before installation, the Latch bolt should be fully retracted (in the unlocked position).

4. Install Strike on Door Frame:

Align the Strike (D) with the latch bolt on the door frame. Secure it using the Strike Screws (H). Important: Make sure the hole in the door frame is drilled a minimum of 1" (25mm) deep.

Step 3: Install Exterior Assembly

1. Measure Door Hole Diameter:

Measure the diameter of the hole in the door.

  • If the diameter is 2-1/8" (54mm), proceed to the next step directly.
  • If the diameter is 1-1/2" (38mm), remove the spacer on the exterior assembly.

2. Route Cable and Insert Torque Blade:

Route the cable below the Latch and insert the Torque Blade through the slot in the Latch. Ensure the Torque Blade is horizontal. Do not insert the Mechanical Key into the cylinder during installation.

3. Install Mounting Plate:

Attach the Mounting Plate (E) to the door using the Mounting Plate Screws (J). Ensure the plate is kept parallel to the door edge. Do not overtighten screws.

Step 4: Install Interior Assembly

1. Disassemble Battery Cover:

Remove the Battery Cover (G) from the Interior Assembly (F).

Important: Do not load batteries until the lock is completely installed.

2. Connect Cable:

Insert the cable connector from the exterior assembly into the socket on the interior assembly. Push the connector firmly until it is completely attached.

3. Attach Interior Assembly:

Align the Interior Assembly (F) with the Mounting Plate (E) and secure it using the Interior Assembly Screws (K). Tighten the 3 screws. NOTE: Be sure not to use the wrong screws, as it may lead to short-circuit and other problems.

4. Insert Batteries and Attach Cover:

Insert 4 AA Alkaline batteries into the battery compartment. Then, attach the Battery Cover (G).

How to Reset

  1. Keep the door open and unlocked.
  2. Press and hold the Reset Button for 5 seconds using the Reset Tool (L).
  3. Continue holding the Reset Button until you hear a long beep and the Latch bolt extends out automatically.

Troubleshooting

The Latch bolt keeps going in and out.

Disassemble and reinstall the lock by following the installation tips:

  • Do not insert the Mechanical Key into the lock cylinder before or during installation.
  • Keep the Latch fully retracted and the Torque Blade horizontal.
  • Ensure the cable is routed below the Latch.
  • The Exterior and Interior Assemblies should be installed parallel to the door edge.

I cannot remove my key unless it is in the locked position.

Uninstall the Interior and Exterior Assemblies. Before re-installation, follow these guidelines:

  • Make sure the Latch bolt is in the retracted position.
  • Do not insert the Mechanical Key into the lock cylinder before or during installation.
  • Make sure the Torque Blade is inserted horizontally.

Fail to reset.

  • The battery is low if the battery indicator light keeps flashing. Replace with 4 new AA Alkaline batteries.
  • Refer to the "How to Reset" section and perform a resetting again.

How to lock manually on the Keypad from outside?

  1. Touch the keypad once.
  2. Press and hold any button for 2 seconds.
  3. Use your Fingerprint (if applicable).

The Latch bolt won't be extended out completely after installation.

Review if the Exterior Assembly is aligned parallel to the door edge. The Exterior Assembly should not be at a crooked angle.
