Installation Instructions
Follow these instructions to add front disposal to a FilterQuick fryer.
- Remove power from fryer and external electrical connections.
- Remove from hood to gain access to the back.
- Remove the fryer lower back.
- Attach new front dispose assembly using supplied screws. Figure 1 shows the location of the assembly and indicates screw attachment points with arrows.
- Locate the rear waste assembly switch on the waste oil handle assembly, to the left of the filter pump.
- Disconnect the black wire from the rear waste assembly switch (see Figure 2 for location).
- Locate the black wire with the male terminal on the new assembly harness and connect to the black wire that was disconnected in step 6.
- Locate the black wire with the female terminal on the new assembly harness and plug into the open terminal on the switch. Figure 3 provides a diagram of the new front disposal wiring, showing switch terminals labeled COM, NO, and OPEN WASTE.
- From the rear of the fryer, remove and discard the flexline indicated with an 'X' in Figure 4. This flexline connects the waste assembly manifold and the bulk waste connection on the rear of the fryer. Figure 4 displays the original plumbing setup.
- Remove the flexline connection fitting shown in Figure 4 from the waste assembly and set aside.
- Attach the supplied 1/2" x 1-1/2" nipple to the T-fitting where the fitting was removed in the previous step (see Figure 5). Use Loctite on fittings.
- Attach the supplied 1/2" 90 degree elbow to the nipple attached in the previous step (see Figure 5). Use Loctite on fittings.
- Attach the flexline connection fitting removed in step 10 to the 90 degree elbow attached in the previous step (see Figure 5). Use Loctite on fittings.
- Attach the flexline from the new front disposal assembly to the flexline connection attached in the previous step (see Figure 5).
- Reattach the lower rear back panel.
- Plug in any external electrical connections.
- Re-position the fryer under the hood.
- Allow the fryer to completely boot up until all controllers display OFF.
Configuration for FilterQuick 3000
- For FilterQuick 3000, follow these steps. For FilterQuick 4000 Touch screen, skip to step 32.
- On the far left controller, press and hold the [checkmark button] until the controller scrolls through Info Mode, changing to MAIN MENU, and then PRODUCT SETUP.
- Press [scroll right] to scroll to VAT SETUP and press [checkmark button].
- Enter 1656.
- The controller displays SYSTEM.
- Press [scroll right].
- Press [scroll right] to scroll to WASTE and press [checkmark button]. The right display changes to FRONT.
- Press [scroll right] to scroll to EXIT and press [checkmark button].
- All controllers reboot.
- Cycle the control power using the hidden reset momentary rocker switch. This switch is located under the left control box for gas models (see Figure 6) or behind the right control box for electric models (see Figure 7). HOLD THE SWITCH FOR 30 SECONDS ENSURING THE FRYER BOARDS HAVE POWERED FULLY DOWN.
- Attach the supplied wand to the quick disconnect on the new front disposal assembly and test using the procedures in the following steps. NOTE: Pump the oil back into the vat when testing.
- Press the FILTER button until FILTER MENU is displayed for three seconds, changing to FILTER.
- Follow the steps in section 1.9.4 on page 1-15 of the supplied manual 8197206 for FilterQuick 3000 fryers or the steps in the section. This completes the installation.
Configuration for FilterQuick 4000 Touch Screen
The following steps are to configure on a FilterQuick 4000 Touch Screen fryer.
- Press the HOME button.
- Press the Settings button.
- Press the Service button.
- Enter 3000.
- Press the [checkmark button].
- Press the [scroll down arrow].
- Select Waste Oil.
- Select WAND FRONT.
- Power cycle the fryer by pressing and holding the Master Reset button. This button is located under the USB port in the far left cabinet or on the front of the far left cabinet control box.
- Attach the supplied wand to the quick disconnect on the new front disposal assembly and test using the procedures in the following steps. NOTE: Pump the oil back into the vat when testing.
- Press the Filter hand button.
- Follow the steps in section 2.1.5 on page 2-10 of the supplied manual 8197206 for FilterQuick 4000 fryers or the steps in the section.
