Power On/Off
- To turn on: Press the [Xbox button].
- To turn off: Hold the [Xbox button] for 6 seconds.
- To force shut down: Hold the [Xbox button] for 12 seconds.
Connectivity
Android ?
System Requirement: Android 13.0 or above.
Bluetooth Connection:
- Press the [Xbox button] to turn on the controller.
- Press and hold the [Pair button] for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The [Status LED] will blink rapidly (required for the first-time connection only).
- On your Android device, go to Bluetooth settings, search for "8BitDo Ultimate MGX", and connect. The [Status LED] will remain solid when the connection is successful.
iOS ?
System Requirement: iOS 18.5 or above.
Bluetooth Connection:
- Press the [Xbox button] to turn on the controller.
- Press and hold the [Pair button] for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The [Status LED] will blink rapidly (required for the first-time connection only).
- On your iOS device, go to Bluetooth settings, search for "8BitDo Ultimate MGX", and connect. The [Status LED] will remain solid when the connection is successful.
Windows ?
System Requirement: Windows 10 (1903) or above.
Wired Connection:
Connect the controller to your Windows device via the USB cable and wait until the controller is successfully recognized by the device.
Features
Fast Button Swap
When a swapped function button is pressed, the [Profile LED] blinks continuously.
Button swap settings are not permanent and will revert to default settings after the controller is powered off or disconnected.
The [Xbox button], [P1 button], and [P2 button] are not supported for button swapping.
Example swap illustration: [A button] + [B button] + [View button] results in a sequence of [A button] then [B button].
P1/P2 Buttons Configuration
A single button on the controller can be mapped to the [P1 button] or [P2 button].
Mapping for [LSB/LTS] and [RSB/RTS] is not supported.
Button configuration settings are not permanent and will revert to default settings after the controller is powered off or disconnected.
The [Profile LED] blinks continuously when the mapped button is pressed.
- To map a button (e.g., [A button]) to [P1 button]: Press and hold [P1 button], then press [A button] and [View button]. The [P1 button] will then function as the [A button].
- To unmap a button from [P1 button]: Press and hold [P1 button], then press the [Profile button] (represented by a star icon in diagrams). The [P1 button] will be set to [empty].
Battery Information ?
Battery Type: Built-in 300mAh rechargeable battery.
Usage Time: Up to 13 hours.
Charging Time: Approximately 1 hour.
Auto-Shutdown: The controller will automatically shut down if it fails to connect within 1 minute of startup, or if there are no operations within 15 minutes after establishing a connection. Auto-shutdown is disabled during wired connection.
Power LED Status:
- Low battery: [Power LED] Red blinks.
- Charging: [Power LED] Green blinks.
- Fully charged: [Power LED] Green remains solid.
