Safety First
Helmets Save Lives!
Always wear a properly fitted helmet that complies with CPSC or CE safety standards when riding your scooter.
Correct Fitting: Ensure your helmet covers your forehead.
Incorrect Fitting: A forehead exposed is vulnerable to serious injury.
General Safety Precautions:
- The first rule in safe riding is to use common sense.
- Be aware of and comply with local laws governing electric transportation devices on public roads. Check with local officials for traffic law requirements. Hover-1 is not liable for tickets or violations.
- For your safety, always wear a helmet that meets CPSC or CE safety standards. A helmet can protect you from serious injury and, in some cases, death.
- Obey all local traffic laws, including signals, one-way streets, stop signs, and pedestrian crosswalks.
- Ride with the traffic, not against it.
- Ride defensively and expect the unexpected.
- Give pedestrians the right-of-way.
- Do not ride too close to pedestrians; alert them if you intend to pass.
- Slow down at intersections and look both ways before crossing.
Your FADE scooter is not equipped with reflectors. It is not recommended to ride in low-visibility conditions. If riding in low visibility, ensure your LED light is on and wear bright, reflective clothing.
WARNING: Riding in low-visibility conditions (fog, dusk, night) makes you difficult to see, increasing collision risk. Wear bright, reflective clothing for increased safety.
Safety Checklist:
- Do not ride above your skill level; practice first.
- Do not ride too fast; increased speed means increased risk.
- Do not ride with pets.
- Ensure the scooter is on level ground with power on before stepping on.
Important Warnings and Cautions
WARNING: Mechanical components are subject to wear and stress. Exceeding a component's design life may lead to sudden failure and injury. Look for cracks, scratches, or color changes in stressed areas, indicating the component needs replacement. Do not ride in an abusive manner.
CAUTION: Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, can cause minor or moderate injury.
WARNING: Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, can cause death or serious injury.

Charging Your FADE
Charging the Device:
- Ensure the charging port is clean and dry, free of dust or debris.
- Plug the charger into a grounded wall outlet.
- Connect the cable to the power supply (100V ~ 240V; 50, 60 Hz).
- Align and connect the 1-pin charging cable into the charging port of the FADE Scooter. (DO NOT FORCE OR BEND THE CHARGING CABLE AS IT MAY CAUSE THE PRONGS TO BEND OR BREAK.)
- The charging indicator light on the charger will turn RED when the device is charging.
- The indicator light turns GREEN when the device is fully charged.
- After charging, unplug the charger from the device and the power outlet.
CAUTION: Only use the included charging cable and charger. Using any other unauthorized charger may damage your Hover-1 FADE.
Preparing Your Scooter
Attaching the Handlebars:
Attach the handlebars by placing them into the appropriate sockets and twisting them in the correct direction. They should be tight enough not to loosen while riding.
Diagram: Shows handlebars being attached with "COUNTER CLOCKWISE" indicated for tightening.
Pinch Points:
Some parts of your Hover-1 FADE can cause injury if mishandled. Moving and folding parts can cut skin. Clamps and pivoting parts, like brake levers, can pinch. Be aware of pinch points during folding and unfolding to avoid injury. Do not leave your hand in these areas.
Diagram: Illustrates pinch point locations on the scooter.
Folding & Unfolding
To fold or unfold your FADE scooter: Pull and hold the release lever (near the front of the foot pad). Lift the handlebars up to unfold or pull them down to fold. You will hear a click sound in both directions, indicating it is locked in place.
Diagram: Shows the folding/unfolding mechanism with release lever and locking action.
Before Riding:
It is important to fully understand all elements of your FADE scooter. Incorrect use can lead to loss of control. Learn the functions of the various mechanisms before riding.
Practice using these elements at slower speeds in a flat, open area before riding in public areas.
WARNING: Any FADE scooter that does not work properly can cause loss of control and falls. Do not ride with damaged parts; replace them before riding.
Pre-Ride Checklist & Riding
Pre-Ride Checklist:
- Ensure your FADE is in proper working order before each ride. Contact Customer Support if any part malfunctions.
- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- If the scooter is not used for an extended period, recharge the battery every 2 months to maintain battery life.
- Wear appropriate safety and protective gear.
- Wear comfortable clothes and flat closed-toe shoes.
- Read this Operation Manual for basic principles and riding tips.
Riding Your FADE Scooter:
WARNING: Failure to follow safety precautions can lead to device damage, voided warranty, property damage, serious bodily injury, and death.
Operating Your Device:
- Ensure the device is fully charged before first use.
- Before turning on the motor, ride the scooter like a normal kick scooter to get comfortable with balancing.
- Once balanced, turn the scooter on.
- To engage the motor, press down on the footpad throttle. The scooter does not require a kick-off to activate the motor. Be careful not to activate it accidentally.
- To slow down, disengage the Foot-Pad Throttle and squeeze the brake handle. The brake is pressure sensitive; a tighter grip provides more stopping power.
To turn, use the handlebar in the desired direction. The FADE can be operated manually without the motor.
As you become more comfortable, maneuvering will become easier. At higher speeds, shift your weight to overcome centrifugal force.
Prepare to brace yourself for bumps or uneven surfaces. If necessary, dismount and carry your FADE to a safe operating surface.
WARNING: Do not turn sharply or at high speeds to avoid danger. Do not turn or ride quickly along slopes, as this may cause injury.
Weight and Speed Limitations:
Speed and weight limits are for your safety. Do not exceed the limits listed in the "Specifications" section.
WARNING: Overweight exertion may increase the possibility of injury or product damage.
Operating Range:
Factors affecting operating range include:
- Terrain: Riding distance is greatest on smooth, flat surfaces. Uphill or rough terrain significantly reduces distance.
- Weight: Lighter users have a greater range.
- Ambient Temperature: Riding and storing the device within recommended temperatures increases driving distance, battery life, and overall performance.
- Speed and Riding Style: Maintaining a moderate, consistent speed maximizes distance. High speeds, frequent starts/stops, idling, and frequent acceleration/deceleration decrease overall distance.
*Do not attempt to stop suddenly, as this may lead to injury or damage to your brake discs.
Safety Alerts
If a system error or illegal operation occurs, the device will prompt the user. These alerts should not be ignored; take appropriate action to correct any issues.
Common alerts include:
- Prohibited riding surfaces (uneven, too steep, unsafe, etc.).
- Battery voltage is too low.
- The device is still charging.
- Overheating or high motor temperature.
- Tires are blocked (device stops after 2 seconds).
- Low battery indicator flashes to alert the rider.
Sustaining high discharge current (e.g., riding up a steep slope for a long period) may cause the motor to power off after 15 seconds.
WARNING: Proper use of your brake is vital for safe stopping. Apply brakes gradually and allow ample room for a complete stop.
WARNING: SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IF YOU ARE EXPOSED TO ANY SUBSTANCE EMITTED FROM THE BATTERY.
