Preparing Your Scooter

Attaching the Handlebars

Attach the handlebars by placing them into the appropriate sockets and twisting them in the correct direction. The left handlebar twists counter-clockwise, and the right handlebar twists clockwise. If the handlebars do not attach flush to the frame, you may need to shift the location of your throttle and brake assembly. Tighten or loosen with the included hex key, ensuring they are NOT touching or blocking your handlebars.

Pinch Points

Some parts of your Hover-1 Gambit can cause injury if mishandled. Moving and folding parts can cut skin. Clamps and pivoting parts, such as brake levers, can pinch. When folding and unfolding your Hover-1 Gambit, watch for pinch points where possible injury may be sustained. Do not leave your hand in these areas.

Folding & Unfolding Your Gambit Scooter

To fold your Gambit, press down on the rear wheel fender and pull the steering column up. Raise the release lever up and push it into place to secure the steering column, then twist the black piece in the center to lock it. Ensure the steering column is secured in place before riding.

Riding Your Gambit Scooter

⚠ Warning

Any Gambit Scooter that does not work properly can cause loss of control and falls. Do not ride a Gambit with a damaged part; replace it before riding.

It is important to fully understand all elements of your Gambit scooter. Incorrect use leads to loss of control. Learn the functions of mechanisms before riding. Practice at slower speeds in a flat, open area before public use.

Pre-Ride Checklist

Ensure your Gambit is in proper working order before every ride. If a part malfunctions, contact Customer Support. Ensure the battery is fully charged. If unused for extended periods, recharge every 2 months to maintain battery life. Wear appropriate safety and protective gear. Wear comfortable clothes and flat closed-toe shoes. Read the Operation Manual for basic working principles and tips.

Operating Your Device

Ensure the device is fully charged before first use. Before turning on the motor, ride it like a normal kick scooter to get comfortable. To activate the motor, start riding and then push the throttle down with your thumb. To slow down, push the electric brake down to stop the motor and slow you. Also, press the mechanical brake with your foot. To turn, use the handlebar. The scooter can be operated manually without the motor. As you get comfortable, maneuvering becomes easier. At higher speeds, shift weight to overcome centrifugal force. Brace for bumps or uneven surfaces; dismount and carry to a safe surface if encountered.

⚠ Warning

Do not turn sharply or at high speeds to avoid danger. Do not turn or ride quickly along slopes, as it may cause injury.

Weight and Speed Limitations

Speed and weight limits are set for safety. Do not exceed limits listed in the "Specifications" section.

⚠ Warning

Overweight exertion on the device may increase possibility of injury or product damage.

Operating Range

Factors affecting operating range:

  • Terrain: Riding distance is highest on smooth, flat surfaces. Uphill or rough terrain significantly reduces distance.
  • Weight: Lighter users have further range.
  • Ambient Temperature: Ride and store under recommended temperatures for increased driving distance, battery life, and overall performance.
  • Speed and Riding Style: Moderate, consistent speed maximizes distance. High speeds, frequent starts/stops, idling, and frequent acceleration/deceleration decrease distance.

Do not attempt to stop suddenly as this may lead to injury or damage to brake discs.

⚠ Warning

Proper use of your brake is vital for safe, efficient stopping. To avoid misuse and potential injury, do not apply sudden or excessive force. Apply brakes gradually and allow enough room to stop safely.

Safety Alerts

If a system error or illegal operation occurs while riding, the device will prompt the user. These notices should not be ignored; take appropriate action to correct the issue.

Common Safety Alerts:

  • Prohibited riding surfaces (uneven, too steep, unsafe).
  • Battery voltage too low.
  • Device is still charging.
  • Overheating, or motor temperature too high.
  • Battery icon flashes when power is low.
  • Device stops after 10 seconds if tires are blocked.
  • Motor powers off after 15 seconds if battery level depletes below protection mode.

If sustaining a high discharge current (e.g., riding up a steep slope for a long time), the motor will power off after 15 seconds.
