FLEX Elektrowerkzeuge GmbH has launched the new CSM 57 18-EC, a compact and powerful cordless metal circular saw tailored for professionals in metal construction, locksmithing, and installation/assembly work. This cordless saw enables precise and clean cuts in metal sheets, pipes, profiles, and plates – with minimal sparks, high efficiency, and ergonomic handling.

High-Performance 150mm Stainless Steel Saw Blade for Continuous Use

The CSM 57 18-EC is designed for professional, continuous use. Equipped with a high-performance 150 mm saw blade and a powerful EC motor, it cuts materials up to 57 mm deep. The compatible 18-volt battery platform, when used with an 8.0 Ah battery, allows for all-day operation without battery changes.

Metal construction influencer and locksmith Florian Beck (762Schlosserbande) has extensively tested the saw in practice. He expressed great enthusiasm, stating that he has been using a pre-release model for three-quarters of a year under demanding conditions and is impressed by its capabilities. He finds it indispensable for his weekly work, significantly easing his tasks due to its cordless, highly manageable design, allowing him to quickly cut sheet metal nearby.

The CSM 57 18-EC facilitates spark-reduced work and generates less heat compared to angle grinders, making it ideal for indoor or sensitive environments. Locksmith Flo Beck particularly highlights the precision: "I particularly like that you can use it with the guide rail, so you get extremely precise cuts."

Thoughtful Ergonomics and High Safety

The saw features an ergonomically shaped grip area with soft inserts and an offset auxiliary handle, providing a clear view of the cutting line. Additional features include a detachable auxiliary handle, a metal-covered chip collection container, a fold-out hook for hanging, and integrated storage for the Allen key for quick blade changes. The enclosed design enhances safety by significantly reducing the risk of injury compared to open-cutting discs.

Practical Experience: Long-Term Use Confirmed

Despite intensive use, the blade's durability is impressive. Beck noted, "I was a bit concerned at first whether the saw blade would really hold up. But it does! I'm still using the first saw blade on the test machine – for three-quarters of a year!"
