FLEX Launches New Cordless Metal Circular Saw: CSM 57 18-EC
Steinheim, June 2025
Precise, Fast, and Accurate: The New Cordless Metal Circular Saw CSM 57 18-EC
FLEX Elektrowerkzeuge GmbH introduces the CSM 57 18-EC, a compact and powerful cordless metal circular saw designed for professionals in metal fabrication, locksmithing, and installation work. This battery-powered saw enables precise and clean cuts on metal sheets, pipes, profiles, and plates with low sparking, offering an efficient and ergonomic solution.
Key Features:
- Precise and cordless metal cutting with minimal sparking.
- High-performance 150 mm saw blade suitable for stainless steel and metal up to 57 mm thickness.
- Includes parallel fence and guide rail compatibility, powered by high-capacity 8.0 Ah batteries for extended use.
High-Performance Cutting for Continuous Professional Use
The CSM 57 18-EC is engineered for demanding professional applications. Its high-performance 150 mm saw blade and powerful EC motor allow for cutting materials up to a depth of 57 mm. The compatible 18-volt battery platform, combined with an 8.0 Ah battery, ensures all-day operation without frequent battery changes.
Metalworking influencer and locksmith Florian Beck (762Schlosserbande) has thoroughly tested the saw: "I am truly impressed with this machine. I've been using the first sample I received for three-quarters of a year, and I'm amazed at what it can do. I use it every week, and it significantly simplifies my work. It's incredibly practical without a cord – I can just grab it and quickly cut through sheet metal."
Clear Advantages in Daily Work
The CSM 57 18-EC provides low-spark cutting and generates less heat compared to angle grinders, making it ideal for indoor or sensitive environments. Its compatibility with guide rails and parallel fences allows for dimensionally accurate and repeatable cuts, a significant advantage in series production and assembly tasks. Locksmith Flo Beck emphasizes the precision: "What I particularly like about this tool is that you can use it with a guide rail, allowing for very precise cuts."
Sophisticated Ergonomics and High Safety Standards
The saw features an ergonomically shaped handle with soft grip inserts and an offset auxiliary handle for a clear view of the cutting line. Additional practical features include a detachable auxiliary handle, a metal-clad chip collection container, a fold-away hook for hanging, and an integrated hex key holder for quick blade changes. The enclosed design enhances safety by significantly reducing the risk of injury compared to open cutting discs.
Practical Experience: Long-Term Use Confirmed
Despite intensive use, the saw's durability is impressive. Beck notes: "Initially, I had some doubts about whether the saw blade would hold up. But it does! I'm still using the original saw blade on my test machine – for three-quarters of a year now!"
With the CSM 57 18-EC, FLEX expands its range of cordless professional tools with a solution that sets new standards in metal construction for precision, efficiency, and safety. The FLEX CSM 57 18-EC is available from May in a carton or L-Boxx®, including a saw blade for metal and stainless steel, a hex key, a parallel fence, and an adapter plate for guide rails.
