Cordless Metal Circular Saw
Flexible, Fast, and Precise: The New Cordless Metal Circular Saw CSM 57 18-EC
Steinheim, June 2025
- Spark-free, precise, and cordless metal cutting
- 150 mm high-performance saw blade for stainless steel and metal up to 57 mm
- With parallel fence, guide rail, and compatible battery up to 8.0 Ah
With the new CSM 57 18-EC, FLEX Elektrowerkzeuge GmbH is launching a compact and powerful manual metal circular saw onto the market, designed to meet the demands of professionals in metal construction, locksmithing, and installation and assembly work. The cordless saw enables precise and clean cuts in metal sheets, tubes, profiles, and panels – spark-free, efficiently, and ergonomically.
With 150 mm High-Performance Stainless Steel Saw Blade for Continuous Use
The CSM 57 18-EC is designed for continuous professional use: with a 150 mm high-performance saw blade and a powerful EC motor, it cuts materials up to 57 mm deep. The compatible 18-volt battery platform, in combination with an 8.0 Ah battery, allows for all-day use without changing the battery.
Metal construction and locksmith influencer Florian Beck (762Schlosserbande) has already tested the saw in detail in practice: "This machine really convinced me. I struggled for nine months with an early sample that I could test beforehand, and I'm amazed at what this device can do. We use it every week here, it makes my work enormously easier. It's very maneuverable without a cord, so I just grab it and quickly cut sheet metal."
Clear Advantages in Daily Work
The CSM 57 18-EC allows work with fewer sparks and less heat than an angle grinder. It is therefore particularly suitable for indoor work or in sensitive environments. Thanks to compatibility with the guide rail and parallel fence, precise and repeatable cuts are possible without issues, a significant advantage for series production and assembly operations. Locksmith Flo Beck particularly emphasizes the precision: "I particularly appreciate that it can be used with the guide rail to make extremely precise cuts."
Well-Thought-Out Ergonomics and High Safety
The machine offers an ergonomic grip area with soft inserts and an offset auxiliary handle, providing a clear view of the cutting line. It features other clever equipment details such as a detachable auxiliary handle, a chip collector secured by a metal coating, a fold-out hook for suspension, and an integrated tool holder for the Allen key, for quick and easy saw blade changes. Furthermore, the enclosed design increases safety during work, as the risk of injury is significantly reduced compared to open-rotating cutting discs.
Practical Experience: Long-Term Use Confirmed
Despite intensive use, the service life is impressive: "At first, I was a bit skeptical about whether the saw blade would really hold up. But it lives up to its promise! In fact, I'm still using the first saw blade on the demo machine – for nine months now!" says Florian Beck.
With the CSM 57 18-EC, FLEX is expanding its portfolio of cordless professional tools with a solution that sets new standards in precision, efficiency, and safety in metal construction. The FLEX CSM 57 18-EC has been available since May in a cardboard box or L-Boxx® version, including a saw blade for metal and stainless steel, an Allen key, a parallel fence, and an adapter plate for the guide rail.
