General Installation & Safety Advice
[Warning] Check that nothing has been damaged or deformed during transport.
In case of doubts or questions concerning installation, use, or limitations, contact your dealer. Installation by qualified personnel in compliance with local regulations is recommended.
Vehicle Compatibility:
- Not suitable for vehicles with 270° hinge systems.
- Ensure the rear door is securely closed before installation.
- For camper vans with rear windows, download a template from fiamma.com to check compatibility.
General Usage Precautions:
- Always ensure the vehicle wall/rear door is solid and suitable for anchoring points. Reinforce if necessary.
- The carrier modifies the vehicle's normal weight distribution; do not exceed maximum permissible axle load.
- Do not exceed the maximum permitted vehicle length and total weight.
- Distribute bike weight evenly (heavier bikes closer to the vehicle) for stability.
- Signal the presence of the carrier with an appropriate sign for protruding loads. Use additional rear-view mirrors if rear visibility is limited.
- Be aware of the carrier's presence when driving, especially when reversing, and if the vehicle has parking sensors.
- Comply with speed limits and traffic laws. Adjust speed to traffic and load conditions.
- Ensure tow hook accessibility and trailer cornering mobility (DIN 74058) if using with a trailer.
- Periodically check the carrier's fastenings, especially after initial use and long trips. Replace worn components immediately.
- Ensure sufficient clearance between bike handlebars/pedals and vehicle rear windows to prevent glass damage.
- Remove accessories (child seats, baskets, etc.) from bikes as vibrations can dislodge them.
- The rear windscreen wiper may be affected by the bikes; check wiper blade radius before operation.
- Bike covers are not allowed on this model.
- Remove bicycle batteries before transport.
- The lower version requires the number plate holder bar with regulation lights.
- The rear door can be opened even with bikes mounted.
- Rotating bicycle handlebars is recommended to prevent damage to the vehicle wall; Fiamma is not responsible for such damage.
