- The vehicle wall/rear door must be sufficiently solid for anchoring points. Reinforce if necessary.
- Do not exceed the maximum permissible axle load or the vehicle's total weight.
- Ensure correct weight distribution: heaviest bikes near the vehicle wall for stability.
- Always signal the presence of the bike carrier with a warning sign for protruding loads.
- Use additional rear-view mirrors if rear visibility is limited.
- Be aware of the Carry-Bike's presence when driving, especially when reversing.
- Comply with speed limits and the Highway Code. Adjust speed to traffic and load conditions.
- Check the tow hook accessibility and corner mobility if using with a trailer.
- Periodically check the tightness of the bike carrier and its components, especially after initial use and before/after long trips. Replace worn parts immediately.
- Ensure sufficient distance between handlebars/pedals and vehicle rear windows to prevent damage.
- Remove accessories from bicycles (child seats, baskets) as they may detach due to vibrations.
- Be aware that the rear windscreen wiper may not function with bicycles mounted.
- Bike covers are not allowed on this type of Carry-Bike.
- For versions with intermediate/lowered rail support, a license plate carrier bar with lights is required.
- The rear door can be opened even with bikes mounted.
- It is recommended to rotate bicycle handlebars to avoid damage to the vehicle wall. Fiamma is not responsible for such damages.
Installation Instructions
The following steps detail the installation process. Refer to the diagrams for visual guidance.
Step 1: Preparation
Check all parts against the parts list. Ensure the vehicle's rear door is securely closed before starting.
Step 2: Mounting Brackets
Attach mounting brackets (e.g., parts A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H) to the vehicle's rear door using the provided screws and hardware (e.g., M6x25, M6x45, M6x50, M6x55, M6x95, M8 screws, nuts, washers). Follow the specific diagrams for each bracket's placement and fastening. Ensure screws are tightened appropriately, without forcing (see page 9, step 4 & 5; page 10, step 6; page 11, step 7).
Step 3: Assembling the Frame
Assemble the main frame structure (parts A, B, C) using the specified screws and components (e.g., U, F2, G2, H2, I, J, L2, M2). Pay attention to the correct orientation and tightening of each part (see page 12, steps 8 & 9; page 13, steps 10 & 11; page 14, steps 12 & 13; page 15, steps 14 & 15; page 16, step 16; page 17, steps 17, 18 & 19).
Step 4: Securing Bike Rails
Attach the bike rails (e.g., parts O, P, Q, R, S, T, W, X, Y, Z, Z2, W2) to the assembled frame. Use the appropriate screws and locking mechanisms. Ensure the rails are securely fastened and correctly positioned (see page 2, diagram; page 8, step 3; page 9, step 5; page 10, step 6; page 11, step 7; page 12, step 9; page 13, step 10; page 14, step 12; page 15, step 15; page 16, step 16; page 17, step 19; page 18, step 20; page 19, step 23; page 20, step 24).
Step 5: Attaching Bike Blocks
Install the bike blocks (e.g., parts E2A, E2B, F3) onto the bike rails to secure the bicycles. Ensure they are firmly attached (see page 10, step 6; page 18, step 20; page 22, step 27).
Step 6: Final Checks
Verify all connections are tight. Ensure the rear door opens and closes correctly with the carrier installed. Check the overall stability of the mounted unit.
Usage Instructions
- Load bicycles onto the rails, ensuring correct weight distribution.
- Secure bicycles using the provided bike blocks and straps.
- Ensure handlebars and pedals do not interfere with the vehicle or other bicycles.
- When driving, be aware of the increased vehicle dimensions and weight.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and speed limits.
