Product Description
A front view of the DOD Gunslinger MOSFET Distortion pedal. It is a silver-colored rectangular pedal with four black control knobs labeled GAIN, LEVEL, LOW, and HIGH. Below the knobs are the DOD logo and the text "GUNSLINGER MOSFET DISTORTION". A silver footswitch is located at the bottom center, with a blue LED indicator light to its left. The sides feature vertical ribbed textures.
Controls
- 1. GAIN: Adjusts the amount of distortion gain.
- 2. LEVEL: Adjusts the overall output level of the distortion effect.
- 3. LOW: Adjusts the amount of low frequencies in the distortion signal.
- 4. HIGH: Adjusts the amount of high frequencies in the distortion signal.
- 5. INPUT: Connect your instrument here.
- 6. FOOTSWITCH: Engages and disengages the effect.
- 7. LED: Illuminates when the effect is active.
- 8. OUTPUT: Connect to the next pedal or your amplifier's input.
Usage
Most guitarists and bassists prefer placing the Gunslinger at the beginning of their effects chain. A typical effects signal chain often includes distortion effects first, followed by modulation effects (Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo, etc.), and finally time-based effects (Delay and Reverb). Placing the Gunslinger at the front of your chain preserves its character, regardless of the subsequent pedal combination. Experimentation with different effect placements is encouraged.

- Do not install near heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Use only attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
- Do not override the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades, one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding pin. The wider blade or the third pin are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit your outlet, consult an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, especially at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
- Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, or table specified by the manufacturer or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
Power Switch and Mains Disconnection:
- ON/OFF Switch: The switch used in this equipment does NOT interrupt the mains connection.
- Mains Disconnection: The plug must remain readily operable. For rack mounting or installation where the plug is not accessible, a multi-pole master switch with a contact separation of at least 3 mm in each pole must be incorporated into the rack or building's electrical installation.
- If connected to a 240 V source, an appropriate power supply cord with CSA/UL certification for that source should be used.
Power Cord Wiring Instructions:
WARNING TO CUSTOMERS IF YOUR UNIT IS EQUIPPED WITH A POWER CORD.
WARNING: THIS APPARATUS MUST BE CONNECTED TO A MAINS SOCKET WITH PROTECTIVE EARTH CONNECTION.
The conductors of the power supply cord are colored according to the following code:
GREEN AND YELLOW – EARTH / BLUE – NEUTRAL / BROWN – LIVE
Since the colors of the conductors of the power supply cord of this apparatus may not correspond with the color markings identifying the terminals of your plug, proceed as follows:
- The GREEN AND YELLOW colored conductor MUST be connected to the terminal in the plug marked with the letter E, or with the EARTH symbol, or colored GREEN, or GREEN AND YELLOW.
- The BLUE colored conductor MUST be connected to the terminal marked N or colored BLACK.
- The BROWN colored conductor MUST be connected to the terminal marked L or colored RED.
This equipment may require the use of a different line cord, attachment plug or both, depending on the power supply available in the installation. If the attachment plug needs to be altered, consult qualified service personnel who should consult the table below. The GREEN/YELLOW wire must be connected directly to the chassis of the unit.
CONDUCTOR | WIRE COLOR (Normal) | WIRE COLOR (Alt) |
---|---|---|
L (LIVE) | BROWN | BLACK |
N (NEUTRAL) | BLUE | WHITE |
E (EARTH GND) | GREEN/YEL | GREEN |
WARNING: IF EARTH IS ANNULLED, CERTAIN FAULT CONDITIONS IN THE UNIT OR IN THE SYSTEM TO WHICH IT IS CONNECTED MAY RESULT IN FULL LINE VOLTAGE BETWEEN THE CHASSIS AND EARTH. SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH MAY OCCUR IF THE CHASSIS AND EARTH ARE TOUCHED SIMULTANEOUSLY.
