DOD Gunslinger MOSFET Distortion
Product Overview
The DOD Gunslinger MOSFET Distortion is a guitar effects pedal designed to deliver a versatile distortion tone. This document provides an overview of its controls, usage, specifications, and essential safety and compliance information.
[Image Description: A front view of the DOD Gunslinger MOSFET Distortion pedal. It features a silver brushed metal enclosure with the DOD logo and "GUNSLINGER MOSFET DISTORTION" text. The pedal has four control knobs labeled GAIN, LEVEL, LOW, and HIGH. A silver footswitch is located at the bottom center, with a blue LED indicator light above it. Input and Output jacks are visible on the sides.]
Controls
- 1. GAIN: Adjusts the amount of distortion gain.
- 2. LEVEL: Adjusts the overall output level of the distortion effect.
- 3. LOW: Adjusts the amount of low frequencies in the distortion signal.
- 4. HIGH: Adjusts the amount of high frequencies in the distortion signal.
- 5. INPUT: Connect your instrument here.
- 6. FOOTSWITCH (PEDAL): Engages and disengages the effect.
- 7. LED: Illuminates when the effect is active.
- 8. OUTPUT: Connects to the input of the next pedal or to your amplifier's input.
Usage
Most guitarists and bassists prefer placing the Gunslinger at the beginning of their effects chain. A typical effects signal chain often starts with distortion pedals, followed by modulation effects (like Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo), and then time-based effects (like Delay and Reverb). Placing the Gunslinger at the front of the chain helps preserve its character regardless of the pedals that follow. However, experimentation with different pedal placements is encouraged to find the desired sound.

Safety and Compliance Instructions
This product is designed for use at low altitudes. Do not use above 2000 meters (approx. 6560 feet).
The symbols used in this manual are internationally recognized warnings for electrical products. A lightning bolt symbol (⚡) within an equilateral triangle indicates the presence of dangerous voltages. An exclamation mark symbol (❗) within an equilateral triangle indicates that the user should consult the owner's manual.
These symbols also warn that there are no user-serviceable parts inside the unit. Do not open the unit or attempt repairs yourself. All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel. Opening the chassis for any reason will void the manufacturer's warranty. Do not expose the unit to water. If liquid spills onto the unit, unplug it immediately and take it to an authorized dealer for repair. Unplug the unit during electrical storms to prevent damage.
UK Plug Warning
A molded mains plug that has been cut off from the cord is unsafe. Dispose of it at an appropriate disposal facility. Never insert a damaged or cut mains plug into a 13 Amp socket. Ensure the fuse cover is in place. Replacement fuses are 13 Amp and must be ASTA approved to BS1362.
Product Disposal
When disposing of this product, do not mix it with general household waste. A selective collection system for used electronic products exists in accordance with legislation requiring proper treatment, recovery, and recycling. For households in the EU, Switzerland, and Norway, used electronics can be returned free of charge to designated collection centers or retailers when purchasing a similar new product. For other countries, contact local authorities for correct disposal methods. General Safety Precautions
- Read and keep these instructions.
- Heed all warnings.
- Follow all instructions.
- Do not use this apparatus near water.
- Clean only with a dry cloth.
- For indoor use only.
- Do not block any ventilation openings. Install according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Do not install near heat sources such as radiators, heating registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Use only manufacturer-specified accessories.
- Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
Power Cord and Grounding
Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades, one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wider blade or the third prong is for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit your outlet, consult an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet.
Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
Use only with a cart, tripod, stand, or table specified by the manufacturer or sold with the apparatus. When using a cart, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Service is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as when the power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
Power Switch: The power switch on this equipment does NOT interrupt the connection to the mains power supply.
Mains Disconnection: The mains plug must remain readily operable. In case of rack mounting or installation where the plug is not accessible, the mains wiring of the rack or building must incorporate a readily accessible mains disconnect switch with a contact separation of at least 3 mm in each pole.
If connecting to a 240V power supply, use a CSA/UL certified power cord suitable for that power supply.
Power Cord Wiring
WARNING: THIS APPARATUS MUST BE CONNECTED TO A PROTECTED EARTH GROUND OUTLET.
The power supply cord conductors are colored in accordance with the following code:
GREEN AND YELLOW: EARTH / BLUE: NEUTRAL / BROWN: LIVE
Since the colors of the conductors in the power supply cord of this apparatus may not correspond with the colored markings identifying the terminals of your plug, proceed as follows:
- The GREEN AND YELLOW colored conductor must be connected to the plug terminal marked with the letter E, or with the earth symbol (?), or colored GREEN, or GREEN AND YELLOW.
- The BLUE colored conductor must be connected to the terminal marked with N or colored BLACK.
- The BROWN colored conductor must be connected to the terminal marked with L or colored RED.
This equipment may require the use of a different power supply cord, plug, or both, depending on the power source available at the time of installation. If the accessory plug needs to be changed, consult qualified service personnel. The GREEN/YELLOW wire must be connected directly to the unit's chassis.
Grounding Warning
WARNING: If the grounding is disabled, certain fault conditions in the unit or the system to which it is connected may result in a full line voltage between the chassis and ground. Serious injury or death can then result if the chassis and ground are touched simultaneously.
