Vimtag Security Camera Quick Guide
01/What's in The Box
The package includes the following items:

02/Preparations Before Connecting
For safety: Ensure to use the original power adapter.
Before Connecting:
- Place the camera and your smartphone 1-3 ft (30-100cm) away from the router for Wi-Fi setup.
- Ensure your camera is connecting to the correct network (2.4GHz/5GHz).
SD Card Note: Please insert the SD card before powering on the camera, otherwise, the SD card may not be recognized. The camera supports up to a 512GB SD card (SD card is not included).
03/Product Diagram
The camera features the following components:
- Lens: The primary optical component.
- IR LED: Infrared LEDs for night vision.
- Microphone: For audio input.
- Speaker: For audio output.
- Reset Button: Used for resetting the device.
- MicroSD Card Slot: For inserting a memory card.
- Bracket: For mounting the camera.
Power on Camera:
- Plug in the camera's power cable using the included 5V power adapter.
- After the infrared light goes out, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds to reset the camera.
- Wait for the "Reset Successfully" beep, then wait for approximately 60 seconds.
- When you hear the "Ding" beep, the camera has been reset and powered on.

04/Application
Note: The application may be updated periodically to improve user experience. Screen layouts and functions might change. Please refer to the actual application screen for details. Contact us for detailed functions and operation methods. This manual content is for reference only.
Download the "canny cam" application:
- Method 1: Scan the QR code provided to download the app.
- Method 2: Search for "canny cam" in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

05/Register an Account
Follow these steps to register an account:
- Open the "canny cam" application.
- Tap "Sign Up".
- Enter your email address and the verification code.
- Enter and confirm your password (between 8-32 characters).
- Confirm login.
You will need to agree to the service agreement and privacy policy during registration.
06/Camera Connection
Follow these steps to connect your camera:
- In the app, tap the "+" icon to add a camera.
- Use your phone to scan the QR code on the device with the camera.
- Wait for Bluetooth connection. The status will show "Device connecting...".
- Enter your Wi-Fi account and password.
- Click "Set Up" to complete the process.
- Customize your camera name and password.
The camera will indicate "Camera added successfully!".

07/Install The Camera
The camera can be installed in different orientations:
- Normal Install: Standard upright mounting.
- Upside Down Install: For ceiling mounting.
Mounting typically involves using the provided bracket, screws, and expansion pipes.
Note: When the camera is installed vertically on the ceiling, please flip the screen orientation in the APP settings.
08/SD Card Installation
Important: Ensure the camera is powered off before inserting or removing the SD card.
Installation Method:
- Insert the MicroSD card with the metal contacts facing the lens. There is a front indicator on the card near the slot.
- Gently push the MicroSD card into the slot until you hear a click.
- Do not forcefully insert the MicroSD card at an angle or upside down.
Removal Method:
- Gently push the SD card until you hear a click, then it can be removed.
- Forcibly pulling out the MicroSD card may damage the device or the card.
Troubleshooting: SD card not recognized?
- Ensure the camera is powered off.
- Use brand new SD cards (Class 10, formatted as Fat32/exFat).
- Format the SD card using a computer and reinsert it into the camera.
- Check the SD card status in the app under "Settings" -> "SD Card" to confirm recognition.

09/FAQs
Cannot receive alarm notifications on the APP?
- Check your phone's notification settings to ensure notifications are allowed for the Vimtag app.
- Enable the motion detection alarm function manually: Go to "Settings" -> "Alarm Management" in the App. Select the detection method (e.g., motion detection or sound detection), turn on "Allow push notifications", and tap "Apply".
Network connection failed?
- Ensure the camera is within the effective range of your router.
- Make sure your camera is close to the router for a strong WiFi signal.
- Too many devices connected to your WiFi may cause IP address conflicts.
- Press and hold the reset button for 5-10 seconds to reset the camera to factory settings, then try reconnecting.

What should I do if my WiFi is often disconnected?
- Check your WiFi network stability. Restart your router and the camera.
- Ensure your WiFi signal strength is above 85%.
- If your location is too far from the router, consider moving the router closer or adding a WiFi extender.
- Delete the camera from the app, reset the camera to factory settings, and then re-add it.
- Make sure your device firmware and the app are up to date.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
