01/What's in The Box
The package includes the Vimtag Security Camera, a power cable, a user manual, a power adapter, and a screw kit for mounting.
02/Product Diagram
The camera features a Lens, Microphone, Speaker, Infrared & White Light, a Reset Button, and an SD Card Slot.
03/Preparations Before APP Installation
Before Connecting:
- 1. Insert the SD card before powering on. The camera supports up to 512GB SD cards (SD card not included).
- 2. Position the camera and smartphone 1-3 ft (30-100cm) away from the router during Wi-Fi setup.
- 3. Ensure your camera is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz/5GHz).
Power on Camera:
1. Plug in the camera's power cable using the included 5V power adapter. The infrared light will turn on, indicating the camera is powered on.
The reset button can be pressed and held for 10 seconds until a "Reset Successfully" beep is heard to restore factory settings. After reset, wait over 60 seconds for the camera to power on and be ready.
Supports local SD card storage up to 512GB.
04/APP Installation and Account Registration
Download APP:
Method 1: Download the "Canny Cam" APP from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
Method 2: Scan the "Canny Cam" APP QR code to download.
New users need to register by email:
- Click "Sign up" to begin registration.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete account registration.
- Log in to your new account.
Tips:
Please grant the following 2 permissions while using this APP for the first time.
- Grant permission for "Canny Cam" to access mobile cellular data and wireless LAN for successful camera addition.
- Allow "Canny Cam" to receive push notifications to get alerts for motion detection or audible alarms.
05/Camera Connection
1. Tap the "+" icon to add a new camera.
2. Scan the QR code on the device to connect. Note: Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled.
3. Wait for the Bluetooth connection to complete.
4. Enter your Wi-Fi account (SSID) and password, then tap "Next".
5. Tap "Confirm" to proceed.
6. Set a name and password for the camera, then tap "Confirm" to finish the setup. This camera password is separate from your account password.
06/Install the Camera
The camera can be mounted using the included Plastic Bracket, Expansion Pipe, and Mounting Screws. When installing vertically on the ceiling, the screen orientation can be flipped within the app.
07/SD Card Installation
Note: Ensure the camera is powered off before inserting the SD card.
1. Install the Micro SD Card: Gently push the Micro SD card into the slot with the metal contacts facing the lens until it clicks. Avoid inserting at an angle or upside down.
2. Remove the Micro SD Card: Gently push the inserted card until it clicks to release it. Avoid forceful removal to prevent damage.

Wi-Fi Connection
1. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Ensure the camera is within router range. Weak signals can cause connection failures.
2. Verify Wi-Fi Credentials: Double-check the Wi-Fi password entered in the app.
3. Same Network: Ensure both your phone and camera are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
4. Restart Devices: Reboot your router, camera, and phone.
5. Firmware Update: Check for and install available camera firmware updates via the app.
6. Reset Camera: Press the reset button to restore factory settings and try reconnecting.
Color Night Vision
1. Enable View Mode "Auto".
2. Enable Spotlight.
Note: Auto Mode + Spotlight Mode provides continuous color night vision for live view and recordings.
Receive Alarm Notifications on the APP
1. Ensure your phone settings allow notifications from the "Canny Cam" app.
2. Enable Motion Detection: Navigate to "Settings" > "Alarm Management" in the app and select "Motion detection" or "Sound detection".
3. Turn on "Allow push notifications" and tap "Apply".
Automatic Light and Sound Alarm Settings
1. Enable Detection: Go to Settings > Monitoring Settings > Motion, and enable "Motion".
2. Enable "Alarm Sound".
3. Enable Detection Spotlight.
SD card not recognized
1. Insert the SD card before powering on the camera.
2. Check SD card status in "Settings" > "SD Card" to ensure it's recognized.
3. Use Class 10 Fat32/exFat SD cards.
4. Format the SD card and reinsert it.
