Simple to Pair WiFi
1. Initial RainPoint App Setup
Search for "RainPoint" and download the Android or iOS app for free. Alternatively, scan the QR code provided in the original document (Note: QR code excluded as per instructions).
Create an account and log in, or log in with an existing account to begin pairing with the Wi-Fi water pump.
2. Pair the Water Pump
From the APP's home page, click the 'Add Device' button (represented by a '+' icon).
Select your device type (Timer with Pump).
Connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Note: The Rainpoint Wi-Fi water pump only pairs with a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. For dual-band routers, please independently enable the 2.4GHz WiFi band and name it differently from the 5GHz WiFi band. Follow the "Common Router" Setup Methods to separate them.
Ensure the pump is powered by the USB cable (included) for Wi-Fi connection and remote control.
Indicator Light Guide:
- Flashes quickly (once a second): Powered up and not paired / Powered on and no network.
- Flashes slowly (once every 2 seconds): Powered on and paired (Network connected).
- Always on: (Indicates a stable connection after successful pairing).
Press and hold the [WiFi Button] on the device for 5 seconds until the indicator light blinks once per second.
In the APP, follow instructions to reset the device if needed. Confirm the indicator is rapidly blinking and proceed to enter pairing mode.
Important Notes:
- Wi-Fi pairing and APP access require high current support; ensure the USB cable is powered before pairing.
- Press and hold the [WiFi Button] until the indicator light blinks quickly.
Wi-Fi pairing takes approximately 1-2 minutes. Upon successful pairing, the APP will display "Device added successfully".
You can customize the device name in the APP. If pairing fails after 2 minutes, reset the device fully (refer to page 16) and restart the pairing process from the beginning.
After pairing, you can remotely manage multi-watering plans. Notifications will be sent to the APP when "Automatic" watering plans are active or the pump is out of water. This system is ideal for caring for potted plants when you are busy or away on vacation.
It is recommended to use the USB cable for power supply when a plug is available. If there is no plug at the location where you need to use the water pump, please take the water pump to a place with a plug to match the APP first, and then take it to the use position to use the battery power supply.
Easy to Install
1. Two Power Supply Methods
Battery Power Supply: Install 4 new AA (1.5V) alkaline batteries, observing the correct polarity ('+' and '-'). Battery power is suitable for timed watering and manual watering that have been set to run, but it cannot support remote control.
USB Cable Power Supply: Plug in the USB cable (included). When the power is on, the [Power Indicator] will light up. WiFi connection and remote control must keep the USB connection powered; otherwise, the WiFi function will not work. WiFi pairing and APP access are not available with battery power alone.
Note: When both power modes are used simultaneously, the USB cable power will be activated. Used batteries must be removed from the pump to prevent explosion or leakage.
2. Determine the Correct Placement
Place the pump below the water level of the container. Ensure the pump itself is not submerged in water.
Consider the height difference between the plants and the pump. If the water pipe cannot be placed 100% straight, it is recommended that the height difference between the plants and the pump should not exceed 2.5m to ensure proper water flow and avoid over-watering or leaking issues.
3. Connect the Hose Correctly
3.1 Cut Tubing: Cut the tubing according to the distance required between the device, the plants, or your needs.
3.2 Ease Connection: To make connecting the tubing easier, dip the end into hot water for 10 seconds or apply a little vegetable oil to the end of the hose before connecting.
3.3 Connect to Pump: Connect the tubing to the water inlet and outlet ports on the pump.
3.4 Install Check Valve: Connect the check valve to the water outlet near the pump. Ensure it is installed correctly according to the flow direction. Note: Using a check valve may reduce water pressure.
3.5 Connect to Container: Connect the main tubing to the water inlet of the container using the provided tubing end caps or fittings.
3.6 Splitting Water Flow:
- 1) Single Hose: If only one hose needs to be connected, use a straight barb fitting.
- 2) Two-Way Split: When you need to connect the hose while splitting to two ways, use a T barb fitting.
- 3) Three-Way Split: When you need to connect a hose while splitting to other 3 ways, use a cross barb fitting.
3.7 Install Emitters: When water needs to be delivered directly to the soil, use the micro drip emitters. Insert emitters into the soil near the plant roots for efficient watering.
3.8 Install End Caps: After water flows out from the end of the pipe, please install Tubing End Caps to avoid air in the pipe, which could prevent water from flowing smoothly to the end of the pipe.
4. Installation Completed and Tested
Press the [Manual Button] to activate the pump, and water will be pumped to your plants.
Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. Keep tightening until no leakage is observed.
After testing with no usage problems, proceed to the next step: WiFi pairing and programming watering plans.

Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Cause | Possible Solution |
WiFi can't be connected | Signal interference or too far between the pump and router, causing unstable connection. Not in the correct connecting mode. | Reset the router for a 2.4G channel and reconnect. Move the pump to a closer socket near the router and reconnect. Unplug the USB cable and battery first, wait 10 seconds. Charge the pump with the USB cable again, then hold down the [WiFi Button] until the indicator light flashes rapidly and enter pairing mode. |
Uneven water flow / Water pipes not working properly | Too far from pots and water containers or too long pipes can reduce the pump's efficiency. Because of the material, in order to make the pipe more durable. The lack of water at the inlet resulted in the plan not being implemented on time. Leakage in the system. | The further away from the pump the potted plant is, the weaker the water flow will become. Please use some clamps to hold the first few branches so that the mainstream water can be delivered quickly and for a long time. Put the head of the hose into hot water for 10s or put a little vegetable oil on the end of the hose before connecting. Check if there is a lack of water in the container at the inlet. (If there is a leakage, the schedule will not run). |
Watering schedule not on time | There is no auto-run schedule set up on the APP side. The water pump unexpectedly lost power and the plan was emptied. | Once the plan parameters have been set, the plan will be executed automatically according to the parameters set by checking "Auto Run". The watering schedule needs to be reset. |
