Electrical Safety
WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD
Failure to follow these instructions can result in electric shock, fire, or death.
- Unit must be properly grounded.
- Do not cut or remove the grounding plug.
- If the outlet is not properly grounded, consult a qualified electrician.
- Connect to a grounded 115V, 60 Hz AC outlet protected by a 15 amp time-delay fuse or circuit breaker.
- Install in accordance with national wiring codes.
- Do not alter or modify the plug or cord. Replace damaged cords only with genuine parts by a qualified technician.
- Do not use an extension cord.
Integrated Circuit Breaker
The power cord has an integrated circuit breaker. Test and reset it using the buttons on the plug case. Consult a qualified electrician if grounding instructions are unclear or if the breaker malfunctions. The circuit breaker should be tested periodically by pressing the TEST button, then the RESET button. If the TEST button does not trip the breaker, or the RESET button does not stay engaged, unplug the unit immediately and contact Insignia.
Grounding Methods
Preferred grounding method: Ensure a proper ground exists before use.
Temporary grounding: Use only a UL-listed adapter plug for temporary connections. Ensure the adapter's large slot aligns with the outlet's large slot. Hold the adapter while plugging/unplugging to prevent ground terminal damage. Attaching the adapter's ground terminal to the wall receptacle cover screw does not guarantee grounding unless the screw is metal, not insulated, and the receptacle is grounded. Never use a broken or damaged adapter.

Setting Up Your Portable Air Conditioner
Before Using
Remove and store packing materials. Remove any shipping tape. Clean tape residue with liquid dish soap and a damp cloth; avoid sharp tools, alcohol, thinners, or abrasive cleaners.
Placing Your Air Conditioner
Place the unit on a flat, dry area near a window for venting. Maintain at least 20 inches (50 cm) of space around the unit for good air circulation and performance.
Installing Your Air Conditioner
- Screw the exhaust hose to the air outlet on the back of the unit, then attach the hose adapter to the other end of the hose.
- Measure the window size.
- Install the window sealing plate in the window opening, adjusting its length to fit and securing it with [Screw A]. This kit is designed for sliding windows.
- Insert the hose adapter into the vent panel (A) and slide until it clicks into place (B). Ensure the venting hose is not twisted or kinked for optimal performance; shorten it by squeezing sections together if needed. Caution: Use only the provided exhaust duct; replacing or lengthening it may damage the unit.
- Optional: Install the security bracket using the [Type C Screw].
- Optional: Install sealing gaskets. Remove the two 60" rolls from the accessory bag. Peel the paper backing to expose the adhesive and stick the gaskets to the edges of the window opening where the sealing plate will be mounted to prevent warm air entry. Adjust and install the sealing plate.
- Optional: Secure the venting hose to the vent adapter using the included screw.
Installing the Batteries
Insert two AAA batteries (provided) into the remote control, ensuring correct orientation (+ and -).
