About the Product

The Birdfy Feeder Metal is a smart bird feeder with an integrated camera. Key components include:

• 1. Perch: The perch for birds to rest on.
• 2. Camera: The integrated camera for capturing bird activity.
• 3. Acrylic panel: A transparent panel for viewing.
• 4. Solar panel: Powers the device using solar energy.
• 5. Seed guard: Protects the birdseed.
• 6. Roof: Covers and protects the feeder.

The back of the feeder features:

• 1. Mounting bracket: For attaching the feeder to various surfaces.
• 2. Status light: Indicates the device's operational status.
• 3. Power button: Used to turn the device on/off or for rebooting.
• 4. Charging port: For charging the device.
• 5. Reset hole: For resetting the device.

Note: The microSD card slot on the camera is intended for manufacturer testing only and does not support microSD card storage.

Charging

Fully charge the camera before first use. Charge for 14 hours using the provided DC5V / 1A charging cable.

Status Light Indicators:

Important: Ensure ambient and camera temperatures are above 32°F (0°C) during charging. If the camera has been exposed to low temperatures, allow it to return to room temperature before charging.

Downloading the Birdfy App

Download the Birdfy app from the App Store or Google Play. Follow the in-app instructions to set up your Birdfy device and pair it with the app.

Bird Identification

The AI bird identification feature is automatically included and activated for Birdfy Feeder Metal with Lifetime Free AI. For models with AI by Subscription, subscribe at my.birdfy.com to access this feature.

Assembly

1. Connect the camera to the solar panel and place it into the camera compartment.
2. Ensure the camera is properly aligned with the magnetic connector and securely attached.

Outdoor Installation

A. Pole-mounted:

1. Loosen the hose clip.
2. Wrap the hose clip around the hanging bracket.
3. Attach the hanging bracket to the pole.
4. Hang the feeder on the pole.

B. Tree-mounted:

1. Slide the strap through the hanging bracket slots.
2. Wrap the strap around the tree.
3. Hang the feeder on the tree.

C. Wall-mounted:

1. Use the drill template and an electric drill (15/64", 6mm) to drill four holes.
2. Drive the provided plastic anchors into the holes. If mounting on wood, skip this step. Fasten the hanging bracket on the wall using the screws.
3. Hang the feeder on the wall.

Adding Birdseed

1. Push the roof backward to disengage the magnet and unlock it.
2. Open the roof to add birdseed.
3. Close the roof and pull it forward to secure the magnet.

Adjusting the Perch

1. Turn Knob A counterclockwise to loosen it.
2. Adjust the perch to the desired length.
3. Turn Knob A clockwise to tighten it.

*Knob B is not adjustable.

Follow the illustrated steps for cleaning the Birdfy Feeder. [Diagram showing cleaning steps]

Note: Bleach should not be used for cleaning.

Troubleshooting:

If your Birdfy camera goes offline or fails to stream:

1. Ensure the camera is fully charged.
2. Verify your home Wi-Fi connectivity and try to reconnect the camera to your Wi-Fi network.

If the issue persists:

1. Disconnect the camera from the solar panel or charger.
2. Use the ejector pin or a paperclip to press the reset hole to power down the camera.
3. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to restart the camera.
