About the Product
The Birdfy Feeder Bamboo consists of the following components:
- 1. Perch: The perch for birds to rest on.
- 2. Camera: The integrated camera for capturing bird activity.
- 3. Acrylic panel: A transparent panel for viewing the interior.
- 4. Seed bin cover: The lid for the birdseed compartment.
- 5. Mounting bracket: The bracket used to attach the feeder to a surface.
- 6. Charging cable port: The port for charging the device.
Internal components include:
- 1. Metal mesh: A mesh component within the feeder.
- 2. Camera compartment cover: The cover for the camera housing.
- 3. Status light: An indicator light for device status.
- 4. Charging port: The port for charging the device.
- 5. Reset hole: A small hole for resetting the device.
- 6. Power button: The button to turn the device on or off.
Note: The microSD card slot on the camera is intended only for manufacturer testing during production. This product does not support microSD card storage.
Charging
Fully charge the camera before use. For safety reasons, the camera is not fully charged when packaged. Use the included charging cable (DC 5V / 1.5A) to fully charge the camera before the first use.
Status Light Indicators:

Important Temperature Note: When charging and operating, the ambient temperature and camera temperature should be within 14°F to 113°F (-10°C to 45°C). If the camera has been exposed to low temperatures for an extended period, allow it to return to room temperature before charging.
Downloading the Birdfy App
Scan the QR code or search for "Birdfy" on the App Store or Google Play to download the Birdfy app. Pair your Birdfy device with the app to begin.
Bird Identification:
- If you have the Birdfy Feeder Bamboo with Lifetime Free AI, the AI bird identification feature is included and activated automatically.
- If you have the Birdfy Feeder Bamboo with AI by Subscription, you need to subscribe on my.birdfy.com to access this feature.
Assembly
Install the extension perch:
- Attach the extension perch using the provided screws.
Connect the camera to the solar panel (if applicable) and mount the feeder:
Check the solar panel instruction manual for installation details.
- Connect the camera to the solar panel, then place it into the camera compartment.
Outdoor Installation
A. Pole-mounted
- Loosen the hose clip.
- Wrap the hose clip around the bracket.
- Attach the bracket to the pole.
- Hang the feeder on the pole.
B. Tree-mounted
- Slide the strap through the bracket slots.
- Wrap the strap around the tree.
- Hang the feeder on the tree.
C. Wall-mounted
- Use the drill template and an electric drill (15/64", 6mm) to drill four holes.
- Drive the provided plastic anchors into the holes. Skip this step if mounting on wood. Fasten the hanging bracket on the wall using the screws.
- Hang the feeder on the wall.
Adding Birdseed
Open the seed bin cover and add birdseed.
Cleaning
- Open the feeder and remove the camera and perch.
- Remove the metal mesh.
- Clean the components with water. Note: Bleach should not be used.
- Dry all components thoroughly before reassembly.
Maintenance
Seal Your Birdfy: Though crafted with premium bamboo and special treatment, natural wood characteristics mean Birdfy recommends applying a protective finish every six months to extend the feeder's lifespan.

Troubleshooting:
If your Birdfy camera goes offline or fails to stream:
- Ensure the camera is fully charged.
- Verify your home Wi-Fi connectivity and try to reconnect the camera to your Wi-Fi network.
If the issue persists:
- Disconnect the camera from the solar panel or charger.
- Use the provided ejector pin or a paperclip to press the reset hole to power down the camera.
- Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to restart the camera.
