General Conditions of Our Warranties 2015
What's Covered by the Warranty?
The scope of the warranty for each product is described with each one.
Duration of the Warranty
Each warranty lasts for the number of years established for each product, starting from the date of purchase.
What will IKEA do to solve the problem?
IKEA will examine the product to decide if it is covered by the warranty. Then, IKEA will decide whether to repair the defective product or replace it with an identical or similar one. In these cases, IKEA will be responsible for the costs of repair, additional parts, labor, and travel expenses incurred by IKEA personnel, provided the product is repairable without IKEA incurring extraordinary costs to access it. This does not apply in cases where repair has not been authorized by IKEA. Any defective part removed during repair will become IKEA's property. If the item is no longer sold by IKEA, IKEA will provide a suitable replacement. IKEA will, at its discretion, determine what constitutes a suitable replacement.
Warranty Conditions
Warranties are valid from the date of purchase at IKEA. The invoice is required as proof of purchase and identification of the holder. The warranty is non-transferable.
Exceptions
Warranties do not apply to products that have been stored or assembled incorrectly, used improperly, mishandled, altered, or cleaned with incorrect methods or products. Warranties do not cover natural wear and tear, cuts, scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents. Warranties do not apply if products have been placed outdoors or used for non-domestic functions (unless otherwise specified). Warranties do not cover incidental or consequential damages.
Maintenance Instructions
To benefit from these warranties, you must follow the maintenance instructions for each product. You will find all maintenance instructions at your IKEA store and in the details of each item on the web.
General Legal Rights
These warranties provide you with certain legal rights and do not affect your statutory legal rights in any way.
