Model Identification and Parts Diagrams

The document displays detailed diagrams illustrating the components of various Delta Touch₂O® Technology Lavatory Faucets. These diagrams are presented in a multilingual format (English, Spanish, French) and include part numbers for easy identification and ordering.

Specific models covered include COMPEL®, LAHARA®, DRYDEN™, ADDISON™, TESLA®, TALBOTTTM, and specific model numbers such as 538T-DST, 15938T-DST, 552TLF, 752TLF, 592T-DST, 15960T-SS-DST, 551T-DST, 751T-DST, 561T-DST, 761T-DST, 574T-DST, and 774T-DST.

These visual aids break down the faucet into its constituent parts, such as handles, caps, bonnets, valve assemblies, electronic bases, solenoid assemblies, aerators, filters, check valves, and mounting hardware. They are crucial for understanding the faucet's construction and for replacement part identification.

Diagrams show exploded views of faucet components for various models, with part labels in English, Spanish, and French.

Installation Instructions

General Preparation: Read all instructions prior to installation. Ensure you have the necessary tools and parts. The document lists items you may need, such as a 3/32" Allen wrench ?.

Installation Steps (Illustrated): The PDF provides step-by-step instructions. These steps are described textually below, referencing the diagrams:

  1. Step 1: Install the included check valves on both hot and cold water supplies. Finger tighten. Tighten one additional turn with a wrench ?. Loop the supply lines, if possible, to avoid having to cut them. IMPORTANT: Do NOT overtighten, as this can cause cracks, property damage, and may void the warranty. ✔️
  2. Step 2: (Diagram shows faucet body placement and initial connections.)
  3. Step 3: (Diagram illustrates connecting supply lines to the faucet body and electronic components.)
  4. Step 4: Place a bucket under the faucet outlet tube. Slowly open the water supply stop to flush the line. This prevents debris from lodging in the faucet. ?️
  5. Step 5: Close the water supply and remove the bucket. ?
  6. Step 6 & 7: Diagrams illustrate connecting the electronic components, solenoid, and battery pack.
  7. Step 8: Wire management. Ensure wires extend away from the solenoid. DO NOT tie, twist, or bunch wires for proper functionality.
  8. Step 9: Connecting the battery pack. ?
  9. Step 10: Insert batteries into the holder and secure the cap. The document specifies battery types (AA or C) and their expected lifespan. Use numbered icons: 1️⃣ 2️⃣
  10. Step 11: Proper placement of electronic components, often on the cabinet floor.
  11. Step 12 (A-C): Installation of the drain assembly, including stopper, flange, nut, washer, and gasket. Tailpiece connection is detailed.
  12. Step 12 (D-F): Apply silicone to the underside of the flange. Insert the body into the sink. Screw the flange into the body. The pivot must face the faucet. Pull assembly down firmly and hold in place. Tighten nut/washer/gasket and clean excess silicone. DO NOT TWIST.
  13. Step 13 (G-H): Installation of the pivot nut, horizontal rod, stopper, and lift rod. Connect the assembly to the drain.
  14. Step 14: Final connection check. Examine all connections at arrows for leaks. Re-tighten if necessary. IMPORTANT: Do NOT overtighten.
  15. Step 14 (A-D): Manual Bypass instructions. Shut off hot and cold water supplies. Disconnect wires and remove clips from the solenoid. Attach hose directly to the outlet and pull down moderately to ensure connection.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Low Flow Issues: If the faucet exhibits very low flow:

  • A. Remove the aerator with the supplied wrench and clean it. For specific models (561T-DST, 761T-DST, 574T-DST, 774T-DST), refer to installation step 4 to flush debris and reinstall the flow restrictor. If low flow persists, remove and replace the stream straightener.
  • B. Shut off water supplies. Replace the valve cartridge. Ensure the bonnet nut is securely tightened with a wrench ? when reinstalling parts. CAUTION: Failure to securely tighten the bonnet nut could result in water damage.
  • C. Remove and clean the blue filter inside the solenoid valve using needle-nose pliers or tweezers.

Leaks from Under Handle: Remove the handle and trim cap. Use a wrench to ensure the bonnet nut is tight. For models 552TLF/752TLF, remove specific parts (cover, set screw, bonnet, glide ring, handle) and ensure the bonnet nut is tight.

Leaks from Spout Outlet: Shut off water supplies. Replace the valve cartridge. Ensure the bonnet nut is securely tightened. CAUTION: Failure to securely tighten the bonnet nut could result in water damage.

Solenoid Troubleshooting:

  • If the spout indicates three red flashes ???, replace the batteries ?. If the issue persists, replace the solenoid assembly.
  • If neither water nor light indication works: Check battery orientation, replace batteries, check A/C adapter outlet (if used), and ensure the spout sense clip (RP53233) is properly attached and connected.
  • If touch sensitivity is not acceptable, place the battery pack flat on the floor.
  • If the spout displays the proper light ?, but little/no water flows: Verify handle and water supplies are 'on'. Remove the solenoid assembly, clean the filter. Check hose for debris. Test flow from solenoid. If water flows with solenoid removed, replace solenoid and electronics kit.
  • If water continues to flow with the light off: Flush debris by touching the faucet on/off multiple times. If this fails, replace the solenoid assembly.
  • If the spout indicator is not illuminating properly: Check the indicator connector insertion into the solenoid assembly. If issues persist, replace the indicator base and solenoid assembly.

Manual Bypass: For temporary operation, the solenoid assembly can be removed, and the hose connected directly to the faucet outlet for manual operation. ⚙️

LED Indicator Guide and Quick Tips

LED Indicator Guide:

  • Solid Blue ?: Solenoid valve open, water temp < 80°F (27°C).
  • Solid Magenta ?: Solenoid valve open, water temp 80°F - 110°F (27°C - 43°C).
  • Solid Red ?: Solenoid valve open, water temp > 110°F (43°C).
  • 3 Red Flashes ???: Replace batteries ?.

Quick Tips for Delta® Touch₂O® Technology Faucets:

  • Operation: Place hands within 4" of the faucet to turn on. Stays on until hands are removed. Tapping the faucet runs for up to 2 minutes or until tapped off.
  • Handle Control: Use the handle for manual temperature and volume control.
  • Water Flow: Grabbing or tapping the handle starts water flow. A tap turns it off. Reactivate with hands-free or a tap.
  • LED Color Change: Indicates water temperature changes (Blue to Red).
  • Battery Life: Faucet runs up to 2 years on 6 AA batteries.

Setting the Handle Limit Stop (Optional)

This feature has two positions: Position 1 (left) allows full handle motion ('all cold' to 'all hot'). Position 2 (right) allows half motion ('all cold' to 'mixed hot/cold'). Setting to Position 2 may help prevent scalding by limiting hot water mix, but does not compensate for pressure changes.

To change positions: Remove handle, move valve stem to 'all cold' position (water on), change limit stop position, turn off water, reinstall handle.

Custom Fit Connections & Plastic Sleeve Installation

Installer is responsible for cutting supply tubing to ensure a leak-free joint. Use RP50952 sleeves and supplied nuts. Tube cuts must be straight. Follow plastic sleeve installation instructions: slide nut and sleeve onto tube, insert tube into fitting, slide sleeve to engage fitting, then slide nut over sleeve and tighten with wrench ? (2 turns past finger tight).

WARNING: Do not use pipe dope or other sealants on water line connections.
