Installation Instructions
Spout Installation
Note: Designed for maximum countertop thickness of 2 1/4". Use RP37490 Stabilization Plate for stainless steel or thin sinks.
- Shut off water supplies.
- Thread screws (1) approximately 4 turns into mounting nut (2).
- Position spout assembly on sink, centered in mounting hole. Ensure gasket (3) is aligned in base cavity.
- Optional: Use silicone sealant under gasket if surface is uneven.
- Secure spout with mounting nut (2) and washer (4).
- Hand tighten mounting nut, then tighten screws (1) until snug.
Diagram Description: Shows spout assembly parts (1-4) and their placement during installation. Part (1) screws, (2) mounting nut, (3) gasket, (4) washer.
Valve Assembly Installation
- Slide gasket (1) up over valve assembly tubes and place in base groove (2).
- Feed tubes down through sink hole, ensuring gasket is seated.
- Place valve assembly (3) in the center of the mounting hole.
- Secure valve assembly to sink with mounting bracket (4) and nut (5) using the supplied wrench (6).
Diagram Description: Shows valve assembly installation. Parts include gasket (1), base groove (2), valve assembly (3), mounting bracket (4), nut (5), and wrench (6).
Hose Installation
- Step A: Insert hose guide (1) into hose end (2). Pass hose (2) up through spout tip (3). Let hose protrude slightly. Remove hose guide (1). Slide hose weight (4) over hose end (2).
- Step B: Push hose end (1) onto hose (2). Attach clip (3) over hoses. Pull down moderately to ensure connection.
Diagram Description: Shows two steps for hose installation. Step A illustrates inserting guide (1) into hose (2), passing it through spout (3), and attaching weight (4). Step B shows connecting hose end (1) to hose (2) and securing with clip (3).
Soap Dispenser Installation
- Remove nut and gasket (1).
- Insert dispenser body (2) and gasket (3) through selected sink hole. Ensure gasket (3) is seated.
- Secure body to sink with nut and gasket (1).
- From under the sink, screw bottle (4) onto the body assembly shank.
- Insert pump and head (5) into body (2).
Note for Filling: Lift head/pump assembly, pour no more than 8 oz. into bottle. Do not remove bottle frequently as it weakens the neck. Periodically soak and pump warm water to remove soap build-up.
Diagram Description: Illustrates soap dispenser installation. Parts shown: nut/gasket (1), body (2), gasket (3), bottle (4), pump/head (5).
Water Line Connections
Ensure all fittings and end connections are free of debris.
- Faucet fittings (1) are 3/8" compression, colored red (hot) and blue (cold).
- Loop tubing (2) if too long. Minimum bend diameter is 8".
- Secure metal nut (3) on faucet tube to supply valve connection (4). Hand tighten, then tighten one additional turn with wrench. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. Repeat for other tube.
WARNING: Do not use pipe dope or other sealants on water line connections.
Diagram Description: Shows water line connections. Parts: faucet fittings (1), tubing (2), metal nut (3), supply valve connection (4). Shows looping tubing and tightening nut.
Custom Fit Connections (PEX Tubing)
If PEX supply tubing is too long, it must be cut to create an acceptable, leak-free installation. The installer is responsible for ensuring a leak-free joint. Delta is not responsible for tubing cut too short or improperly.
- Use RP50952 sleeves and supplied nuts.
- Tube cut must be straight.
- Secure metal nut (1) on faucet tube to supply valve connection (2). Hand tighten, then tighten an additional 2 turns with wrench. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. Repeat for other tube.
Plastic Sleeve Installation Instructions:
- Identify desired tube length (1), leaving 1"-2" extra. Ensure cut is straight and burr-free.
- Slide nut (2) and plastic sleeve (3) onto cut tube, ensuring correct orientation.
- Insert tube into outlet fitting (4). Tube should touch the bottom of the hole.
- Slide plastic sleeve down tube until it engages the top of the fitting. NOTICE: Incorrect orientation can lead to disconnection and water damage.
- Slide nut over plastic sleeve. Tighten nut 2 turns past finger tight with a wrench.
Diagrams: Illustrate correct vs. incorrect plastic sleeve installation. Emphasize straight cuts and proper sleeve orientation.
Potential Problems & Remedies:
- Tubing not cut perpendicular: Recut carefully.
- Tubing cut too short: Use a coupling union and replacement supply line.
- Lost plastic sleeve or connection nut: Purchase replacements. Do not use metal sleeves or other non-specified parts.
Handle Installation
- Thread sleeve (1) over bonnet (2) and hand tighten.
- Place handle (3) on stem (4) and secure with set screw (5).
- Install button (6) into set screw hole.
Diagram Description: Shows handle installation. Parts: sleeve (1), bonnet (2), handle (3), stem (4), set screw (5), button (6).
Hose Assembly Connection & Flushing
- Pull hose assembly (1) out of spout, holding the end in the sink.
- Turn faucet handle (2) to the full on mixed position.
- Turn on hot and cold water supplies (3) and flush water lines for one minute. IMPORTANT: This flushes away debris that could damage internal parts.
- Hand tighten hose nut (4) into sprayer assembly (5).
- Check all connections for leaks. Re-tighten if necessary, but do not overtighten.
Diagram Description: Shows hose assembly connection and flushing. Parts: hose assembly (1), faucet handle (2), water supplies (3), hose nut (4), sprayer assembly (5).
Setting The Handle Limit Stop (Optional)
This faucet has an integrated handle limit stop with two positions:
- Position 1 (Left): Allows full handle motion (all cold to all hot). This is the factory default.
- Position 2 (Right): Allows half handle motion (all cold to mixed hot/cold).
This adjustment can be made by the homeowner after installation. Setting to Position 2 may help prevent scalding by limiting hot water, but does not compensate for pressure changes or sudden temperature shifts.
To Change Positions:
- Remove the handle.
- Move the valve stem to the "all cold" position (turn water on briefly if needed).
- Change the position of the handle limit stop.
- Turn off the water.
- Reinstall the handle.
Diagram Description: Shows the two positions of the handle limit stop mechanism.
Maintenance & Cleaning
Maintenance
- If faucet exhibits very low flow:
- A. Remove and clean Aerator (1) with supplied wrench (2).
- B. Shut off water supplies. Replace valve cartridge (3).
- If faucet leaks from under handle:
- Remove handle and trim cap (4).
- Using a wrench, ensure bonnet nut (5) is tight.
- If leak persists, shut off water supplies and replace valve cartridge (3).
- If faucet leaks from spout outlet:
- Shut off water supplies. Replace valve cartridge (3).
WARNING: Failure to securely tighten bonnet nut with a wrench could result in water damage.
Note: A small amount of water may run out or drip after shut-off due to the long flexible hose; this is normal.
Note: Valve cartridge (3) cannot be disassembled; it has no repairable parts inside.
Diagram Description: Shows parts relevant to maintenance: Aerator (1), wrench (2), valve cartridge (3), trim cap (4), bonnet nut (5).
Cleaning and Care
Clean gently with a damp cloth and blot dry with a soft towel. Avoid harsh abrasives or polish, as they can damage the finish.
