Model: B-F3

Caution

  1. Always fully charge the battery before use. It is advised to charge at least 4 hours. Use the standard USB cable and 5Vdc, 1A charger plug.
  2. Better to power off the camera manually for stable&quick charging. A charging dock can charge the camera and another battery simultaneously, taking 8 hours to fully charge two batteries.
  3. Do not expose the camera or battery to high/low-temperature environments. If the battery leaks or bulges, stop using it. Risk of explosion if an incorrect battery type is used.
  4. Do not place the LCD or lens under direct sunshine.
  5. Never replace the battery yourself. It may cause damage or explosion. Contact support if the battery has any issues.
  6. Never dismantle, crush, or pierce the product, or allow it to short-circuit. Seek professional assistance if the product malfunctions.
  7. If the camera is not used for a while, please charge it periodically, otherwise, the battery will be damaged slowly.

Part 2 Button Operation Guide

Button Function
Video Button [▶️] Short press to start/stop Video Recording in standby mode.
Photo Button [?] Short press to Take a Photo (one photo per press). Long press to turn on/off IR Lights.
Audio Button [?️] Short press to start/stop Audio Recording in standby mode. Long press in standby to activate White Flash & Alarm [?].
Power Button [⏻] Long press to Power On/Off the camera. Short press in standby to light off the display. In menu setting, short press acts as a return key.
Left Button [◀️] In menu or playback mode, short press to the previous option/step. When playing video, short press to Rewind Play. In standby, long press to switch video resolution.
OK Button [?] Confirm Key. Long press to turn on/off White Illuminations [?]. Short press to enter Playback Mode in standby mode. In playback list, confirm file and long press to get delete option.
Menu/Right Button [Ⓜ️] When standby, short press to enter Menu setting. In menu or playback mode, short press to the next option/step. When playing video, short press to Fast Forward.
Fn Button [Fn] When recording videos, short press to Lock/Mark the current file. In playback page, short press to switch between Video/Photo/Audio List.

Part 3 Quick Setup

3.1 Power On/Off/Standby Mode

3.1.1 Power On/Off

Long press the [⏻] power button to boot; long press again to power off the device.

3.1.2 Standby Mode/Screen Save

In the power-on state, the working indicator stays green [?]. In standby mode, press the [Ⓜ️] button to enter the settings menu. If the Screen Saver option is enabled, the screen will turn off after 30 Sec/1min/3min/5min of inactivity. Tap any button to light up the display screen / activate the camera.

3.2 Video Recording

3.2.1 Normal Video Recording

In standby, short press the [▶️] button to record video. A red dot [?] will flash on the right corner of the screen and the working indicator will flash red. Press it again to stop recording and save. Video files are named after the date and time, saved in MP4 format.

3.2.2 One Key to Video Recording

In powering off status, long pressing the [▶️] button activates the camera and starts video recording.

3.2.3 Video Locked

During video recording, short press the [Fn] button to mark/lock the video. A 5-star icon [⭐] appears on the middle right of the screen. Short press [Fn] again to release/cancel the lock (star icon disappears). Then, press the [▶️] button to save this file.

3.3 Take Photo

3.3.1 Single Shot

In standby mode, short press the [?] button. The working indicator flashes red [?] once, and one photo is taken. Photo files are named after the date and time, saved in JPG format.

3.3.2 Photo Burst Mode

If "Burst" is set to "2/3/5/6/8/10/15/20" in the menu, short press the [?] button once. The red indicator flashes once, and several photos are taken with one press.

3.3.3 Snapshot

During video recording, short press the [?] button to get a snapshot. Every press takes one photo.

Indicators: Working Indicator: Red Light Flashes Once [?]. Charging Indicator: Off.

3.4 Audio Recording

This model can record separate audio files.

3.4.1 Normal Audio Recording

In standby, short press the [?️] button to record audio. While recording, the screen displays a microphone logo and recording details, and the working indicator flashes yellow [?]. Press it again to stop recording and save. Audio files are named after the date and time, saved in WAV format.

3.4.2 One Key to Audio Recording

In powering off status, long pressing the [?️] button activates the camera and starts audio recording.

3.5 Night Vision

The infrared night vision is set to "Manual" by default. Long press the [?] button to turn night vision on/off in standby or video mode. To enable auto night vision, go to menu settings and set "Infrared" to "Auto". The camera will then switch to night vision mode based on ambient brightness.

3.6 Playback Files on Camera

After recording, enter the Playback Files Page to check them. In standby mode, short press the [?] button to enter the playback page and manage files. Short press [◀️] / [Ⓜ️] / [?] to select a file and confirm to play. Short press [Fn] button to switch between Video/Photo/Audio List.

3.7 File Deletion

Enter the Recorded Files Page to delete files. In the file list, short press [◀️] / [Ⓜ️] / [?] to select the file to delete. Then, long press [?] to get the delete option. Short press [◀️] / [Ⓜ️] / [?] to select an option and confirm.

Note: Locked/marked videos cannot be deleted on the camera itself.

3.8 Connect to Computer

Connect the camera to the computer using the USB cable. The camera display will show "USB connecting...". In this mode, the camera cannot record videos or perform other operations. A new removable disk will appear on your computer. If "Password" is enabled in the menu, you need to input the set password (default is 000000) to review or delete files.

3.9 Reset

If the camera locks up or stops working, poke the reset hole [?️] with a pin or thimble (do not use excessive force). The camera will auto shut down after the reset. Long press the [⏻] button to turn it on.

Part 4 EIS/Image Stabilization

The F3 body camera features a 6-axis EIS system for smooth and professional filming, even during fast movement. The "EIS" option defaults to "On" to boost stability and fluency. Enabling EIS may accelerate battery drain; disable it in menu settings if not needed.

Part 5 GPS Function

When "Global Positioning" is enabled during video recording, route information is collected. This data can be played back with track information using the provided GPS player. To enable: Enter Menu [Ⓜ️], navigate to "Global Positioning" using [◀️]/[Ⓜ️], select "ON" with [?], and save with [?].

After enabling "Global Positioning", a GPS icon [?️] will appear on the screen. Go to an open area to get a GPS lock. The GPS icon will change from flashing to steady [?️]. Location coordinates will appear on screen. Recording a video will collect GPS information.

Note: Use the camera in an open area for optimal GPS signal. Signal may weaken in buildings, tunnels, or with metal shielding.

5.1 Playback GPS Videos on Computer

The GPS player supports Windows computers. Two methods:

Method 1: Download the "F2 / F3 GPS Player Download" software from boblov.com. Unzip the installer package and install.

Method 2: Connect the camera to the computer, find the GPS Player Installer Package in the U disk, copy it to your desktop, and install.

After installation, a "GPS Player" shortcut will appear on your desktop.

5.2 GPS Player Interface Introduction

The GPS Player interface includes:

  1. Select file and exit
  2. Language/Speed unit/Map choose
  3. Version
  4. To play previous video
  5. Pause the video
  6. To play next video
  7. Stop playing
  8. Select a file

Note: If alerted about a virus, it's likely due to an unfamiliar file; the file is safe.

5.3 GPS Player Setting Page

Click the setting [⚙️] icon in the top left corner to set languages and choose Google Maps for playback. Click the Stop Button [⏹️] before changing maps.

Part 6 Dash Camera Mode

Dash Camera Mode allows the camera to start recording automatically when connected to the vehicle's 12Vdc power port and the engine starts. To enable this mode, go to standby mode, enter the setting menu, set "CarDV Mode" to "ON", and save. If the camera is in power-off mode, connecting it to the vehicle's 12Vdc power port and then starting the ignition will trigger auto recording.

Part 7 Features You May Concern

7.1 Time&Date Setting

There are two ways to set time and date:

Manually Setting:

When "Global Positioning" is OFF, enter Menu, find "Date/Time" option, set local time, and save. Screen displays for manual time setup.

Sync Auto:

When "Global Positioning" is ON:

  1. Enter Menu, find "Time Zone", set your local time zone, and save (e.g., GMT-08 for US).
  2. Turn on "Global Positioning" in the menu. Once GPS is located successfully (GPS icon [?️] turns steady), the camera date & time will sync to the local correct time. Screen displays showing GPS sync.

Note: Use GPS in an open area for a stable signal.

7.2 Loop Recording

If Loop Recording is enabled (defaults to ON), the device will overwrite old files when storage is full, except for marked/locked videos. Video is saved in clips/fragments to avoid large file damage. Split Time can be set to 1 Min, 3 Mins, 5 Mins, 10 Mins, 15 Mins, 20 Mins, 30 Mins, 45 Mins.

7.3 Camera Password

A "Password" option is available in the menu. To enable, enter the default password: 000000, then short press [◀️] / [Ⓜ️] / [?] to select "ON" and confirm. If you forget the password, email support@boblov.com.

Procedure to verify password after enabling: Connect camera, enter menu, try to enter Playback Files Page. If changing password, verify old password (or default for new camera).

7.4 Rewind/ Fast Forward

When playing video files, short press [◀️] to rewind and [Ⓜ️] to fast forward. Short press [◀️] or [Ⓜ️] to increase speed (2X-64X).

Part 9 White Flash Warning / White Light

9.1 White Flash Warning

After powering on, long press the [?️] button to activate the warning function. The camera will sound an alarm and emit a white flashing light. Long press the button again to turn off the alarm and light.

9.2 White Light

After powering on, long press the [?] button to turn the white light on/off, which acts as an illuminator.

Part 10 Menu Introduction

  1. Short press menu button [Ⓜ️] to enter the menu page.
  2. Short press [◀️] / [Ⓜ️] / [?] button to select an option and confirm.
  3. Short press [⏻] button to exit the menu page.

Part 12 Troubleshooting

Q: The camera doesn't power on or stops working.

A:

  1. Connect the charger and USB cable to charge the camera and check if the problem is solved after 4 hours of charging.
  2. Check if the charger and USB cable are operating correctly.
  3. Connect your device to a wall socket, then press the power button to check if it powers on.
  4. Use a pin to reset the camera and power it on again.
  5. If the problem persists, please contact customer service for further help.

Q: Why does the camera stop recording? Can't record video anymore?

A:

  1. Ensure the camera's storage capacity is sufficient. Turn on "Loop Recording" to allow continuous recording by covering old files when memory is full.
  2. Physically check if the Video Button [▶️] is intact and presses normally.
  3. Format the camera, perform a hard reset, and then try recording again.
  4. If the problem persists, please contact customer service for further help.

Q: A video or audio file cannot be played? Or no sound for videos?

A:

  1. Check the menu and ensure the "Video Mute" option is OFF.
  2. Turn the camera's volume to the loudest to check if sound plays back normally.
  3. It is recommended to play back videos/audio on a VLC media player on the computer.

Q: The camera display is showing red/green.

A:

  1. Turn the night vision on and off using the [?] button to check again.
  2. Reset the camera and power it on to check.

Q: Why does the LCD screen turn off automatically?

A: The camera enters "Screen Saver" mode by default after 5 minutes of inactivity. To keep the display on, go to menu settings and set the "Screen Saver" option to OFF. The "Screen Saver" option can be set to OFF/30 Sec/1min/3min/5min.

Q: Why does the camera shut off automatically?

A:

  1. Check if the "Auto Power Off" option in the menu is ON. To keep the camera powered on, set "Auto Power Off" to OFF. It can be set to OFF/5 Minutes/10 Minutes/15 Minutes.
  2. If you format the camera, it will shut off automatically after a few seconds as it needs to read the storage again. You will need to manually power it on again.

Q: Why didn't the camera record videos auto when connect to the car?

A:

  1. Check if the "CarDV Mode" option in the menu is ON.
  2. The camera needs to be in the Power Off state. Then, once the car ignition is on, the camera will power on and start video recording automatically.

Q: I use a MacBook, can I use the GPS player?

A: The GPS player for the F3 body camera is only suitable for Windows computers.

Q: I forgot my password, how to reset it?

A: Email support@boblov.com to request the universal password to restore the camera password.

Q: I lost the clips, can I get the replacement part?
