Livebox Router Overview
This document provides a detailed description of the Livebox, a device offering comprehensive connectivity solutions. It outlines the various ports, buttons, and indicator lights for optimal user understanding and operation.
Device Ports and Controls
The Livebox is equipped with a range of ports and controls, clearly indicated in the device diagram:
- 1 Gigabit Ethernet Port: Standard high-speed Ethernet connection for wired devices.
- 10 Gigabit Ethernet Port (LAN/WAN): An advanced, high-throughput Ethernet port that can function as either a Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN) connection.
- USB 3.0 Port: A versatile port for connecting external USB storage devices or other compatible peripherals, offering fast data transfer speeds.
- ON/OFF Button: A simple button to power the Livebox device on or off.
- Diagnostic Button: This button is used for performing diagnostic checks or retrieving device status information.
- Reset Button*: A crucial button for troubleshooting; holding it for 10 seconds restores the modem to its original factory default settings.
- Telephone Port: Dedicated port for connecting analog telephones or fax machines.
- Fiber Port: The primary connection point for incoming fiber optic internet service.
Indicators and Functional Buttons
The Livebox features several indicator lights and functional buttons to manage its operations and provide status updates:
- Power Connection: The input port where the power adapter connects to supply electricity to the device.
- Internet Indicator: An LED light that signals the status of the internet connection, indicating whether the device is online and functioning correctly.
- Activate/Deactivate Wi-Fi (press 3s): A user-friendly button that allows for toggling the Wi-Fi network on or off. A press-and-hold action of approximately 3 seconds is required for this function.
- WPS Association: Facilitates a secure and simple connection of wireless devices to the network using the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) protocol.
- Eco Button and Indicator (energy saving mode): This button and its associated indicator light manage and display the status of the energy-saving mode, helping to reduce power consumption.
- Telephone Indicator: An indicator light that shows the operational status of the telephone service connected to the Livebox.
*Note: The Reset button requires a sustained press of 10 seconds to revert the modem to its factory default configuration.
