Product description

Husqvarna 320iB Mark II, 525iB, 530iBX are blower models with an electrical motor. Husqvarna maintains a policy of continuous product development and reserves the right to modify the design and appearance of products without prior notice.

Intended use

This product is designed for blowing leaves and other debris from lawns, pathways, asphalt roads, and similar areas.

To do a check of the keypad

Assembly

To assemble the tube on the product

  1. Put the blower nozzle over the tubular end of the product.
  2. Push the blower nozzle in fully and turn the blower nozzle to lock it to the product.

To adjust the harness

  1. Put the hip pad straps through the fastenings in the harness for the backpack battery.
  2. Adjust the harness to optimize the work position.

Operation

Introduction

WARNING: Read and understand the safety chapter before you use the product.

To do a function check before you use the product

  1. Do a check of the air inlet for dirt and cracks. Use a brush and clean off grass and leaves from the product.
  2. Make sure that the product works correctly.

To connect the battery charger

  1. Connect the battery charger to the voltage and frequency that is specified on the rating plate.
  2. Put the plug in a grounded socket outlet. The LED on the battery charger flashes green one time.

Note: The battery does not charge if the battery temperature is more than 50 °C/122 °F. If the temperature is more than 50 °C/122 °F, the battery charger makes the battery become cool before the battery charges.

Backpack battery (530iBX)

The backpack battery capacity is shown with digits on the product and the LED lamps on the backpack battery.

To charge the battery

Note: Charge the battery if it is the first time that you use it. A new battery is only 30% charged.

  1. Make sure that the battery is dry.
  2. Put the battery in the battery charger.

3. Make sure that the green charging light on the battery charger comes on. That means that the battery is connected correctly to the battery charger.

4. When all LEDs on the battery come on, the battery is fully charged.

  1. To disconnect the battery charger from the mains socket, pull the plug. Do not pull the cable.
  2. Remove the battery from the battery charger.

Note: Refer to the battery and battery charger manuals for more information.

To connect the battery to the product

WARNING: Only use Husqvarna original batteries in the product.

  1. Make sure that the battery is fully charged.
  2. Slide the battery into the battery holder of the product. The battery must slide easily; if not, it is not installed correctly.
  3. Press the lower part of the battery and push it in as far as it will go into the battery compartment. The battery will lock into position when you hear a click.
  4. Make sure that the latches snap in place correctly.

To connect the backpack battery to the product

  1. Connect the adapter cable from the product to the backpack battery.
  2. Fasten the battery cable in the attachments on the harness.
  3. When the backpack battery is used, carry the backpack battery on the back.

To start the product

  1. Press and hold the start button until the green LED light comes on.
  2. Use the power trigger to control the speed.

To stop the product

  1. Release the power trigger.
  2. Push and hold the stop button until the green LED light comes off.
  3. Remove the battery from the product. Push the two release buttons and pull out the battery.

To stop product and the backpack battery

  1. Release the power trigger.
  2. Press and hold the stop button until the green LED light comes off.
  3. Unplug the backpack battery cable from the product.

To start the product (Backpack Battery)

When the backpack battery starts, there is a startup time of about 4 seconds (software booting). During that time, you can hear the fans inside the backpack battery blowing and a green LED on the battery blinks. When the green LED is lit on the battery, the product is ready to start.

  1. Start the backpack battery. Do not proceed with the steps that follow before the green LED is lit.

Note: If the backpack battery is not used for more than 30 minutes, the backpack battery turns off automatically. To start the backpack battery again, press the start button on the backpack battery.

Maintenance

WARNING: Before you do any maintenance work, you must read and understand the safety chapter.

Maintenance schedule

WARNING: Remove the battery before you do maintenance.

The following is a list of the maintenance steps that you must do on the product.

Clean the outside of the machine with a clean and dry cloth. Never use water. X

Make sure that the start/stop button works correctly and is not damaged. X
Make sure the power trigger is functioning properly with regard to safety. X

Check that the battery is intact. X
Check the battery's charge. X
Check that the release buttons on the battery work and lock the battery into the machine. X
Check that the battery charger is intact and functional. X
Check that all couplings, connections, and cables are intact and free from dirt. X
Check the connections between the battery and the machine and also check the connection between the battery and the battery charger. X

To set the optimal airflow for your work

  1. Press the power trigger to choose the optimal airflow for your work.
  2. Press the cruise control button to set the chosen airflow; the LED comes on.
  3. Continue to work without needing to press the power trigger.
  4. Press the cruise control button again to deactivate the cruise control function.

To temporarily increase the airflow

  1. Start the product. See To start the product on page 16.
  2. Press and hold the boost button to get the maximum airflow; the LED comes on.

a) 525iB, 530iBX has unlimited boost time.

b) 320iB Mark II has a limited boost time of 30 seconds. Release and press the boost button again.

  1. Release the boost button to use the product with normal air flow.

To do a check of the air intake

  1. Make sure that the air intake is not blocked on any side on the product.
  2. Stop the product and remove leaves or unwanted material if necessary.

CAUTION: A blocked air intake decreases the blowing capacity of the product and increases the motor's working temperature. This can result in motor failure due to overheating.

To examine the battery and the battery charger

  1. Examine the battery for damages, for example, cracks.
  2. Examine the battery charger for damages, for example, cracks.
  3. Make sure that the connection cord of the battery charger is not damaged and that there are no cracks in it.

To clean the product, the battery and the battery charger

  1. Clean the product with a dry cloth after use.
  2. Clean the battery and battery charger with a dry cloth. Keep the battery guide tracks clean.
  3. Make sure that the terminals on the battery and the battery charger are clean before the battery is put in the battery charger or the product.

Red error LED flashing The power trigger and the start button are pressed at the same time. Release the power trigger and the product becomes active.
The product does not start Temperature deviation. Let the product cool down.
Dirt in battery connectors. Clean with compressed air or a soft brush.
Red error LED is lit The product needs servicing. Contact your servicing agent.

Battery
